QD swap to an 11 rmk

I have a 11 STD RMK 800 boosted with a silber setup. I love the sled. I have a guy I am going to trade for his qd setup. I think it is a far better setup when it works and with a few mods and this years new belt i am hoping it will work out for me. I had a cmx on my dragon and loved it. I am told the swap is doable just need to swap everything. Jackshaft, rotor, caliper, chaincase and all of it components, drive shaft. What else I am i forgetting? I talked to Mountainhorse about it and he said I would need a shim and the guy would have to machine off some of my chaincase. Has anyone done the swap? Could not find a thread on here that anyone has done it just people talking about it. Can I please have anyones thoughts. Thanks Joe

The only issue I've heard of is the '13 Speed sensor / and the older '11 & '12 MFD's (reads at a different ratio). I would hope that the MFD is re-programable for the '13 sensor ratio but I have not looked into it. You can reuse your '11-'12 drive shaft or run the '13. You will be better off switching the chain case for the '13 backing plate to ensure brake fitment, IMO. Regardless they changed the one side piece of the bulkhead that the backing plate connects to, so you need to replace that piece also or machine / grind it to fit. Very doable, I haven't personally done a conversion but their are a few on here that have and they have posted the build with photos so you can see what I'm referring to.

Thanks for the input, I am planing on trading him the whole setup so I will be getting the backing plate and he will get my chaincase. I think I have to use his driveshaft as well as mine off the 11 has the oil seal for the chaincase. I can not find any info on the swap can you point me the right way.

Loudhandle is spot on with his info..I am one of the people he is referring to that have done the swap and posted a few pictures.. :) I traded my 12 chaincase setup for a 13 QD setup.. The swap was easy.. You have to get everything though.. Caliper, caliper mount, caliper bolts, all QD parts including jackshaft, plate for the bearing on the PTO side of the drive shaft, but you do not need the drive shaft itself.. He will probably want your driveshaft so he can keep oil in the chaincase :) and the 13 drive shaft would be ideal for you because the one from the chaincase machine has the gear on the end that will now stick out the side of the tunnel under the secondary clutch, but it doesnt effect anything.. Just put something on there to keep it from rusting. The difference in the speed sensor setup is; the chaincase model reads the speed from the drive shaft gear (that now sticks out the tunnel under the secondary) and the QD model reads the speed from the rotor from the QD. I am not sure if the gauge needs to be recalibrated since I havent run mine since the swap, but the sensor itself is the same and just needs bolted up in the correct location. You also need to do a little grinding on the side bulkhead piece where the QD mounts OR you can buy the one from the 13 or just swap the guy.. whatever works easiest for you.. For me, I just ground mine down.. took about 30 seconds..

If you need any help, shoot me a PM. I will be happy to give you any advise I may have.
