Q Bond is amazing!

I do a lot of plastic repair on cars and sleds, have been plastic welding as part of my trade since i started, but last year i found a product that is better then anything i've used. It's called Q Bond. Stuff is amazing. Even Aluminum to Carbon Fiber. I have a Carbon Fiber fuel tank, and last year the gas tank filler cap bung popped out when i was pulling the nozzle out from filling it. After having an anxiety attack cause we were on our way riding, i ran home, got out the Q Bond, cleaned up the area and applied this stuff, and was ready to go in 10 mins.(normally i would use urethane) To pull that bung out now would take some force and would likely pull some cf with it. Also works great on hoods etc. broken into multiple pieces. I carry a small kit in my pack for trailside repairs. Remember, don't get it on your skin. Costs about 40 bucks for a large kit that will do a pile of repairs.

Where are you getting it? Do you think it would work for hood repairs on a '98 polaris wedge hood? I've never been able to find anything that works very well on those hoods.

20-50 zip ties work pretty well on hoods. Drill holes on each side of the crack, about 1/2 inch apart, and then zip tie all the way down. Works like a champ.

x5 on Q-bond:thumb: it has saved my bacon several times after He-Manning car trim panels.

i get mine from Industrial Plastics-fiberglass and plastic supply. $39.00cad for the large kit. I just finished putting an earlier M1 hood back together for a buddy that was in 9 pces. Stuffs great. You have to make sure the repair area is spotless and fits together fairly well.(obviously) I use good quality Lacquer Thinner or Acetone for a final wipe as it also softens the plastic a little bit and gives it a little stronger bond.

Yeah this may work, especially if you want your sled to look like Frankenstein's monster.
