Pyramid pass/government meadows snow report

Crystal mountain web site shows 6 inches of snow at the base (4300 ft elevation.) Since the upper level of the pyramid pass riding area is a similiar elevation, I grabbed my boys and drove up with the intent of breaking in my new ETEC while riding the trails. Trailered all the way to the gate 1 mile from government meadows and never saw anything more than 1/2 inch of snow. Most of the road at the upper elevation is deeply rutted by the 4-wheel drive crowd. Be patient and don't waste your time or fuel until we have snow!
