Purchasing Klim Gear and need Advice..

In weather down to -20C I wear a base layer and a mid layer under my Valdez coat and am warm all day. But I should add something too... I find if it's cold, and I eat a cold lunch, and am not moving for too long I will most definitely cool off. Howver as soon as I start riding again I am warm. The biggest thing is being dry. Once you are wet and cold it is darn near impossible to warm up again.
For this year I have also added a Klim Torque jacket. It is super light and takes very little space in my pack. I carry it for emergency use, but have found myself wearing it way more that I had planned..... Like pretty much every day lately. I love how comfortable it is, it has a hood and zips up nicely to keep the wind off my face.

Back to answering the question you were asking..... If you are warm enough sitting in a cold truck early in the morning you will likely be way too warm by the time you are riding and working hard. Might need to add a fleece that you remove before you ride.

I mostly ride in above 0 temps and I just have an underarmor long sleeve, my Tek vest and a E vent shell. Works well unless it's very cold or sitting on my azz only then do I need the mid layer.

Thank you, this is the answer I was looking for. I'm used to having the bulk of a insulated coat and then a fleece sweater underneath and am not used to having such lightweight gear to wear. I plan on packing the fleece in my tunnel just in case but doubt I will have to use it. Hopefully I'll be moving to much doing some great boondocking to worry about it.
