Purchasing a Higher Mileage Pro?

So I'm hoping to be able to upgrade to a pro here in in the next couple weeks, and I was wanting to know what people were getting as far as mileage on the sleds.

I'm looking in the price range of $5000-6500, and would need it to last me reliably for at least 4 seasons.

The sled I'm particularly interested in is a 12' 800 Pro, with SLP Stage 2 on it, and quite a few other aftermarket parts/updates. I'm only skeptical about it for one reason, and that's because it has just over 3k miles on it, with less than 1k on a rebuild from a reputable dealer with warranty. The rebuild was done for preventative maintenance.

I'm wanting to know if I should steer clear of this or not. I know the +13' model years were the better engines, and from what I've researched, a lot of Pro's had problems before 3k miles. I would think this one is one of the better ones. The sled is clean, and has been regularly maintained as well.

With your budget, you should be able to find a '15. I'd get as new of a one as possible.

From Mountain Sledder Swapmeet on FB:

2015 Polaris Pro 800 155"$6,500

Great sled, stored covered and indoors. I have a can that fits on it if you want it. Still has warranty. 1247 miles

PM'd you

Wow if you can buy a 15 for that price I'd be really checking it over, here in Oregon you'd be in the 11-13 market no where near a 15.

He's right $6,500 should get you a 15' if you are patient and willing to drive a little bit. I would hold out for atleast a 14.

The facebook group "mountain sledder swapmeet" has great deals, much better then craigslist.

Are the +14s that much better than the earlier years? If I remember correctly, 15s &16s (Pros) were just BNGs from 14.

13 on up or a 12 with the Fuji crank, theres A few out there. That's the only way I would by a 12 is if it has a Fuji crank in it. 13 on up have the Fuji crank thicker cylinder skirt each year they refined the mapping shorter front shocks, different a arms, BNG sand I think the 15s had an updated piston.
