Purchased a 2015 Trails West Trailer - Burandt Edition - Heat doesn't work

I had this same problem last year except this year the furnace doesn't even turn on or blow. Anyone know how to get these things working? I should have had the dealer show me but I figured there wasn't anything special to do since it was the same trailer Io had last year. The only thing different is the furnace and the thermostat.

What I have done to get it going.

Turn on the propane bottles, meter shows green once they are on.
Turn on the killer switch above door (allows lights to turn on, radio etc).
- Lights turn on and are bright, radio works fine.
Turn on the timer
and nothing

The thermostat is stuck in off position, try to push to the left so its not on the off position but it won't move. push to the right and plastic prevents it from moving.

I don't get it, trails west is becoming horse **** trailers, 2 years in a row. someone tell me what the Fawk is wrong with this pos

Every year I cant figure out how to run my furnace in my Featherlite. I get my instruction manual it came with from the actual manufacturer and read through it. There's a specific sequence you have to follow. Somewhere your likely to have one. Trails West just installs it.

Hope this helps. .

I'm curious why you bought another if you had issues with a previous one.

Have you called Trails West? I'm also curious how they are doing on the customer support end of things.

You could take the cover off of your thermostat disconnect the two wires going to the furnace and touch them together to see if the furnace will start. If the furnace starts then most likely the problem is in your thermostat. You may also want to check the timer to see if there is power there.

My thoughts exactly. I only had to buy one trails west trailer and learned my lesson.

Btw - the heater in my charmac is working great :)

if it is a thermostat with a little lever on the top right side than they move real hard. if I remember ight that moving it to the left I on and it only moves like a 1/4".

That was a pretty long rant for answering your own question.

Blu Du is correct. The top lever is in the off position if it is all the way to the right. It will only move left 1/8-1/4" to the on position. It is very hard to move but it is better than being loose. The Atwood furnace that is used this year and is significantly better than the furnace before, don't give up on TW yet :face-icon-small-hap

Sounds like you are only short of turning the furnace on, on top of the box. Like mentioned before it's hard to switch to the one position but it does move. Flip that over make sure the furnace is turned up and it should fire.

Pretty ridiculous

The thermostat was broken and the lever would not move to off even with the cover off. Whoever tested it broke it apparently because I had to use needle nose to lift up the flap so it would slide into the on position. When in the on position the metal was not contacting so it didn't know to fire up. It is now working but needs a replacement thermostat that will make contact. I jammed it to make it work but when I slid it off then back on no contact is being made.

It is pretty disappointing to spend 17k and have a broken thermostat out of the box. joke laugh and think its dumb but after these newest updates I thought they had it under control. I don't know why digital thermostats aren't installed. I'm looking into installing one of those as well. The temp reading does not read either, I ran it 45 min full blast and it never read 50 degrees.

I would talk to your dealer about getting a replacement thermostat, maybe he will work with you on upgrading to a digital unit? That being said I have heard of some digital units reading "LO" when the temp drops below 32 degrees and it locks the thermostat. That would suck..

Keep the faith. I get pretty wound up also when my stuff doesn't work. Sounds like you're in better place now. I wonder what the cold would do to a digital stat? Probably would be fine.
