Pump gas mods forum ride

I sold my m sleds and bought a dragon 8 just cant get no support from cat I think the D8 will run 12#s on 91 from what BD says .
I would have to say the most power out of 91 that I have seen was a nytro built by Impulse turbos , the thing was running 16#s and rocking, it was about dead even with my 1200 at 10 #s on 112.

depending on how well mine works out, i can run at least 12#.... up in cooke i can go closer to 14 on pg all in theory.. heheh.

i think it would just be cool for people to get out and see what is available, see how well other peoples stuff works out, and just have a boosted blast!

While you guys blow over the top I will be working my a$$ off to get half way.
Count me in for the 87 class if its close enough.
Heck, if the elevation is high enough I will run 85.

Are you lowering compression on the D8? What kind of boost numbers were you getting on the Pump gas M8? I don't have any experiance with the D8 but 12#'s on 91 seems like it would be a little generous. Doesn't the dragon come stock with a higher compression head? Not debating, just wondering. :)

hah, no kidding, ill throw in some 9:1 pistons, and a headshim, lag would be kinda bad, but could get some good top end boost!! and run 85.

and shain, i was also wondering about getting the boost to 12# on the D8, thats a LOT for 91, running a custom cut head or something? highest i had heard was up to 10# the really high elevations in CO and UT.

so I as planner say cooke it is... best for organizing and meeting up and all... i will start to look at a calendar to see when looks good to try and organize.

sounds like a good time..i run 14 lbs 270 on 91.runs great..cooke is good times when you get away from the grazers..ha ha:eek::devil:

Sounds like a good time for sure. At cooke elevation with a properly prepped head I think 12 lbs on pump maybe a bit more is a legitimate number.

Shain, so you are going to continue selling your Arctic kits and begin working on Dragon kits as well?? That will be nice!

From what I have seen a four banger will run a ton more boost on pump gas because of the coast cycle that allows cylinder and chamber temps to cool. One of the main issues with a two stroke turbo is that combustion temps want to walk straight to the moon. That impulse kit sounds fun though.

Sounds like some real fun....call it a "turbo 2 smoke ride":beer;
would make sense, BUT, i ride a 4 banger, and so do plenty of other folks.

just looking to get a high HP forum ride together!

and cooke is a blast... im thinkin second week of january sound like a decent idea to start aiming for?

Fiqure out a date, Im in forsure. Island Park, or West Yellowstone sounds alot better than Cooke.

I think it is only fair though for a portion of this little shootout to be held in the trees...That should show who has the best overall setup and give the NA boys a chance to be in the hunt.

Wat does everyone think of this??

Jake

haha.... west and IP are alright, but dont have the BIG stuff quite like cooke. like triple7 said... the higher elevation and pretty amazing snow should really show whats up.

and after a day of chasing people throught the trees, i think most will know whos stuff puts out. im checking out calander really quicky, and it looks to me like jan 9/10 would be a good weekend.. good depth, and plenty of fresh still, also, this way its not in the middle of the new years rush.

The 9th and 10th would be perfect for us. Our crew is in for sure so just finalize your dates and we'll get rooms. Adam(bart0687) just said he would buy the first round for anyone that beats his TM5:eek:
