PS-6 Lynx 2025 Build -- Fuel management design

The fuel delivery system for this build is unique. It was originally introduced to the snowmobile market by Precision Sports back in 2016. At the time, we used it on our Skidoo 1200 projects. It is what is called "Staged Injection". It allows the engine to operate on 2 different types of fuel at the same time with seamless transition from one type of fuel to the other. This system can't be replicated using a typical factory ECU. It also can not be used with stock engine internals

Let me explain how it works.
- The engine is fitted with 6 injectors -- therefore 2 injectors per cylinder.
- One set of injectors is connected to the main fuel tank which contains 91 octane pump fuel.
- The other set of injectors is connected to an auxiliary fuel cell which contains race fuel with an octane rating of at least 112.
- During normal riding up to 21psi of boost, only the injectors connected to the main fuel tank filled with 91 octane fuel are active -- no race gas is injected.
- As boost increases beyond 22psi, the injectors connected to the race gas fuel cell become active and start injecting fuel. At the same time, the low octane fuel injectors gradually reduce flow to ensure a perfect lambda value (afr).
- Upon reaching boost levels above 30psi, only the race fuel injectors are active and the low octane injectors then become totally inactive.
- The injection changeover process is totally seamless and automatically managed by our MaxxECU engine management system.

Here is the bottom line.
A Staged Injection snowmobile is capable of normal trail riding at boost pressure beyond 35psi while still providing good trail manners, long range fuel autonomy and power potential no other trail sled can match. A typical auxiliary fuel cell will typically contain 2 to 3 gallons of race fuel which can last up to 600-800 miles of normal trail riding. The reason for this great range is because race fuel is only injected when boost is above 23psi. This normally lasts only a few seconds at a time.

Finally, the Staged Injection function is only active in Sport Mode, This means normal trail riding remains possible in Eco and Standard mode if or whenever the race fuel cell is empty.

Our 2025 Lynx XTerrain is fitted with our Staged Injection system. Each injector has a rating of 940cc/minute. The low octane injectors are fed by the factory Skidoo fuel pump using fixed 58psi fuel pressure. The high octane auxiliary injectors are connected to a high volume fuel pump using a rising rate fuel pressure regulator set at 43psi base pressure.

Pictures show the auxiliary fuel cell installation and the fuel delivery pump and pressure regulator mounted on the intercooler.
