Providence open or closed?

Does anybody know what the plans are for Providence canyon. Are they going to let us ride up there, or is it closed for good?

The road was washed away during last spring's run-off. It has been closed all summer. They have put a fence up blocking all motorized vehicles and posted signs everywhere saying you'll be shot on site!!! JK about getting shot!! But there are signs saying no motorized vehicles beyond the fence.

I have no clue, but I'm going to raise some he!! if we can't!! It pisses me off that they didn't even try to do anything to fix it... Pure laziness, and they see an easy reason to keep motorized vehicles out.

I heard from one of my friends that he heard it was going to be open to snowmobiles! I hope his source is correct too! I agree with you on them being lazy..... It's not like there is a shortage of gravel and rock right there in the canyon!

they better open that freaking road. It says they closed it due to damage from vehicles. freaking greenies. I hate hippies

Damage from vehicles???? I've been up there all summer backpacking and camping..... I would love to see the "vehicle" that did that damage in action!!! those tree hugging hippies are just using that for an excuse!!!

I spoke w/ the Forest service at the end of last week. The closure is only to wheeled motorized. Open to sleds. I believe the barriers will be moved w/ in a few days. The canyon could use a little more coverage but is passable now. Have to sqeeze between the log pole fence where the single track crosses the road to get around.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I was going to head up and talk to the forest service tomorrow about this actually, but now I dont need to. Thanks again!
