Went for a ride on Friday the 13th, should of guessed, took a header off about an 8 foot drop, sled 08XP no problems at all. Buddies helped me climb back on the sled rode for another 4 hours, almost home, driving myself start feeling realy light headed and sick. Ended up in ER with broken hip and probably out for the season but man was the powder epic. Will post some picks later.

omg scott !!! you sir are a nutcase.... seriously, im glad you are kind of ok:confused:get well soon buddy....DW

HOLY CRAP!! my hats off to you, thats killer that you ride, that sucks bad that you got hurt, I want to go riding with ya when ya get healed up!

I had a friend that was paralyzed years ago, he got really depressed and I was worried he wasn't gonna make it, since then he has turned into a hermit and never wants to go out.

SG, love your attitude and your style. Sorry that an epic day ended like that. We need you to join us when your hip is healed for a Mafia ride. No stunts! get well fast. Doug

Similar deal with a kid I used to ride with. He was paralyzed from the waist down. Was riding and broke his leg, didn't know it. By the time he got back to the truck he was sick, started puking. Took off his bibs and his leg was swelled up and his jeans looked like a sausage wrapper.

Hope you heal quick.

I don't wish a broken hip or injury while riding on anyone while riding. You are the one for something like that to happen too. had it been me I would have been laying in the snow crying until the helicopter showed up to haul my sorry *** out.

I hope I'm not being rude by asking, but I'd like to know something:

I have a friend in a wheelchair who's kinda down in the dumps. He has M.S. I was thinking about taking him riding, but I wasn't sure what to do about his legs. I'm not sure he has enough control of his lower body to even keep his feet from falling off the boards.

If it's not too personal, may I ask how you cope with this issue??

Should I make some straps or "stirrups"?

I don't want him to get hurt.

I'm only thinking of taking him trail riding, as he has no real sled experience.

I believe scott just straps his legs together somewhere above the knees to help keep his feet on the running board. Don't strap him onto the sled in anyway...that could end badly.

your right, only strap my legs together. paralyzed frm the chest down and ride almost any where. would never strap myself to the sled, glad I came off when I did, could have been much worse.

Thanks for the info.....Now let's see if I can get my buddy out of the house.

Thanks again.

Sounds great, but be aware some say my life is a stunt.

Theres a guy down here in my area who rides with a prosthetic leg and you would never know it. Way to be bro, I think most of us would do the same if we were dealt the same hand in life! Ride on!

Sorry to hear. Seems like just yesterday we were PMing each other to get hooked up for a ride. Season is going by fast and now this. Like I said, Sorry to hear of your misfortune and hopes for a speedy recovery.

DUDE!!! I didnt even get to ride with you yet! That sux! anything we can do for ya?

For those of you who have never ridden with Scott, he tears it up!!!

Scott....good on ya! I'd sure like some shots of you riding! I lecture, as a physical therapist, frequently....and I like motivational stories for those who think they can't do things! You da man! Let me know if I can help you with your hip, or anything else?

JJ.....just one thought....remember that your bud with MS will have spasticity (spasms) in his legs, which is slightly different than a spinal cord injury. You will need to understand this as his legs may go into spasms and his leg will kick out (extend) at the knee. PM me with ?s, if you would like.

Here are some pics of the ride with Scott where he was injured. It was a sweet day with some major pow. Some of the pics are from other days last week.

S1031179 is where Scott landed. The sled made it through..
