Project X - SnoWest's 2012 Project Sled Officially Unofficial Thread -Ride pix UPDATE

Today... We (and when I say we, I mean LCC's Troy Johnson, Christian Muehlfeld and Eric Palosaari from EZ Ryde and ZBROZ club member Ryan Zollinger) removed the stock graphics, installed half of the ArcticFX wrap, removed the stock skid, mounted the Exit shocks on the EZ Ryde, measured and drilled the new mounting holes for the skid, and installed the EZ Ryde skid in the Summit.

Full wrap side shot with EZ Ryde in the sled. Note the yellow arm and black rail color combo. We're starting off with a 200# spring on the rear Exit shock with no preload... May wind up going a little lighter once we get it one the snow and see if we're using all the travel.

I apologize for the cell phone pics. I'll update it next week.

Tomorrow we'll work on the front suspension with new SLP spindles, skis and Exit triple rate shocks. Also, the Team Tied driven clutch and conversion shaft kit will go on, al well as some other parts. LCC has a trick new running board insert we'll be installing at some point, I'll put a picture of it on here too.

Hey guys,
Can I have all the take off parts? I can just build my own sled from those. you should give the take off parts away, to someone for a prize.

I'm ordering my boondocker turbo on monday for my etec. I also have the TEAM clutch. Do you know of anywhere I could find some info as far as initial set-up?

Thanks
Dustin

Any reason you are doing the Exit X0 front shocks instead of the X1?

Any new pics from day 2?

Sorry I have the attention span of a 10-year-old at Best Buy.

Here's some pics from Day 2 at the Intermountain show.

Our EZ Ryde skid awaiting install. We can't wait to see if the sled handles differently with this under it.

EZ Ryde's Christian Muehlfeld negotiates a hostage situation where the tunnel did not want to let go of the stock SC-5M rear suspension.

Getting the cross shafts to release the bolts from the stock skid mounts turned out to be a 4-man job, with Troy Johnson, Ryan Zollinger, Christian and Eric getting mean with the bolts. Maybe a fifth set of hands would have helped, but somebody had to take pictures and guard the churros on the table.

SLP's Dustin Pancheri installs a set of Straight Line Tracking (SLT) skis. Or, should I say, SLP's DP installs some SLTs.

We're also trying out Starting Line's spindles for the Ski-Doo XP. They are shorter and have more trail, which is said to improve handling.

Troy Johnson carves out slots for the SLP air vents on the clutch side. The 2012 Ski-Doos have a new clutch cover that is designed to draw cold air in from the footwell, circulate it around the clutches and discharge it over the engine. It's supposed to drop clutch temps by roughly 30 degrees F. We won't mess with the cover, but we figure a little more cold air coming in on that side will help.

Mountain Addiction's Tim Hibbard and Troy Johnson install a rack, storage cans and a storage box on Project X. At the time, adding more hot pink to the sled seemed like a good idea. I think we'll swap for black or yellow though. The rack system and the dry storage box you can get are very clean and convenient.

We're at the Idaho Snowmobile Show in Boise. Working on the LCC running board inserts now. Putting on RSI controls and the Boondocker turbo tonight too.
