ProClimb Tunnel Bags

I've seen pictures of the ProClimb chasis with a wedge style bag that sorta goes under the seat a bit. However, when I look in the accessories catalog I find only squareish bags that do not go under the seat at all (there are wedge ones, but they are options only for the M series). Does anyone know where the wedge style bags came from that they are using? Are they old M series bags that fit on some Proclimb preproduction models since they are using an old M series seat?

They are new bags. I seen them at the expo. I wish they would have kept the 10-11 seat but since they didn't you will have to get one of these.

The ProClimb's have the same '10 - '11 style seat. So the old style bags listed for the M's are probably the right ones. The ProClimb is still technically an "M".

The ProCross' have a different style seat and the ProCross LXR's come standard with a rear storage bag.

Hope that helps.

if you mean it "Looks" like a '10 - '11 style seat OK, but it is not the same seat, Gas tank in under seat, these sleds have NO storage in them:loco:

Is the rear profile of the seat the same? If it is, the wedge style bags I would imagine would fit.

No Storage under seat

Looks like Arctic Cat could mold in some storage area in the seat between the gas tank and the top of the seat area. good enough for spare items like gloves and goggles etc. Everyone does not want to carry back pack for just a few items. Also the optional bag looks like it is held on with straps under the tunnel. Just how long do you think that will last ?
Other sled brands are getting ripped on reviews for no storage. Come on cat do not follow that path. Rickm

So Cat has no storage for 2012 and Skidoo finally added storage for 2012. It's almost like there are only so many things available for all sleds and the manufacturers get together and have to negotiate.

I have a feeling I'm going to miss the eleventy billion pockets that the boss seat on my 02 RMK has. :face-icon-small-fro

I went to the sled show in the Twin Cities today and figured out why the wedge bad isn't listed as compatible with the ProClimbs. The ProClimb and the ProCross, which the bag is compatible with, have a vastly different tunnel. The ProClimb is heavily ported behind the seat, whereas the ProCross is beefier looking. If you look at pictures of the M1100T Sno Pro LE you can see the porting I'm referring to. In any case, the porting in the tunnel exposes what appear to be cooling channels (4 in X 1/4 in aluminum peices that run the length of the tunnel.) These cooling channels lead to the rear heat exchanger.

The wedge bag I was referring to uses riveted studs to attach to the sled. Two up front on the side of the tunnel, which the straps going form the front of the bag attach to, and two in the top of the tunnel that the bag slides into. The issue is that the studs for the back of the bag would be in the cooling channels that you can see through the porting. That being said, the wedge bag will work just fine as long as you just use Velcro instead of the rear studs that I assume come with the bag. My Boss seat on my Edge RMK is attached with Velcro, so it should stay on no problem.

As for the difference between the ProCross and the ProClimb seats, it's all above the fuel tank. The bottom part of the seat is all tank, and it seems to be identical between the two. The wedge bag's height only goes as high as the exposed part of the fuel tank, so although it may look like there's less room under the ProClimb seat for a bag, the part of the seat that the wedge bag snugs up against is the tank, which is identical between the two. The ProClimb seat is simply shorter, so more of the wedge bag extends past the back edge of the seat.

The real deal is how the tunnel on a procross is tapered up in the middle behind the seat. This gives the bag that we want a different agle to meet up to the seat and tank. I am sure it will work on the m sleds as well it just wont fit quite as nice as the procross models such as the xf.

This is the tunnel bag I am assuming your looking for. ME TOO. In the accessories cat it doesn't list it for the m chassis. I would assume that it does work with the m chassis though.

I've been told that 5639-618 will work on the M chassis. Cat made a late change after requests at the dealer show. That's why it's not listed in the catalog. It will mount using a stud on each side of the tunnel and a single stud on top of the tunnel. The top stud will be mounted in line with the heat exchanger rivets.

I probably should have mentioned this, but in addition to looking at whether it would fit I actually grabbed the bag they had on the procross and put it on the proclimb. Your probably right in that the tunnel angle is different, but I didn't notice it while staring at it. The bottom part of the bag has a 1/2 of foam, and the part that snugs up against the fuel tank wasn;t semi ridgid like the rest of it, so any minor angle differences are absorbed by the non-ridgid sides.
