Problems with 99 Phazer

I have a 99 Phazer that is all stock and in the last season I have had to put in 3 pistons. One cold siezed, the other 2 let go less than 50 miles after I put it back together. The cylinders were just honed (no nickasil) I have it together and it runs but makes a knocking sound coming from the left(cluch) cylinder. Any suggestions?

Is it a hard knock or is it just piston slap, was there a up sized piston put in when it was honed / bored, if not it might just be piston slap, I had one that was bored and honed multiple times and it knocks like a sob when its cold till all the metal expands.
if not when it blows up again (hope it dosent) re sleve it and put stock yammi pistons back in, should cure all problems, (i blew 4 engines in my mod phazer and never had good luck with wisco).

It is making an actual knocking noise, coming from the same cylinder that gave me the most trouble both time. It was honed to stock specs yet, and the pistons fit tight to the cylinders. And yes they are both Yamaha pistons

Just a couple of things I have seen. Could be rod or main bearing out. Have actually seen where piston was put on backwards and rings are catching in ports.

I had a cracked piston skirt causing a knock one time.

Like Leaddog said, your rod bearing on that cylinder is out causing the piston to slap into the head. You need to check the up and down play in your rods next time you have it apart. That is the knocking sound you hear when the top of the piston smacks the bottom of the head.

also make sure nothing fell down . seen people drop stuff down in the crank and never looked for it, would make its way up and chew pistons otherwise resleave and check rods carefully and new yammi piston
