Problem with stock head from factory??

here is my problem. i bought a sled from a dealership that no longer carries arctic cat last january. it was 07 m1000 holdover 0 miles and supposed to be stock. in december i had the motor blow and took it to another dealer to get fixed. i was told by cat that it would not be warrentied since i had a speedwerx y-pipe and can on it. so today i just got a call from the dealer and said that since they have a new head and the old one side by side that it was obvious that the old one has been cut?!? i'm thinking wth. news to me! could this be a factory eroror? anyone else run into something like this? dealer told me to start with cat's comtumer service since this issue has something to do with another dealership that no longer carries cat. is this the right way to go about it. any input would be appreciated. other advice from some other dealers???

any help/advice would be great.

I would get in touch with Cat's area block man and go though the whole story with him. The factory would not have put a shaved head on and I know of others that have had Y pipes and cans that got warrenty. I think either the first dealership did something or this dealership is not trying to help at all and maybe double dipping!

Technically if you mod your sled at all it voids the cat warranty, sometimes dealers will warranty it them self's. but if AC finds out your screwed. so if it gets warrantied I'd just keep my mouth shut. As for the head I'd say someone did something to the sled and put a new speedo in it and screwed you over. Talk to AC and see what happens if its been modded and the dealer sold it as a new untouched sled the old dealer is still accountable but you would probably have to take legal action.

wyoboy-i see what your a saying but i would have a really hard time believing that it was not brand new when i bought it. it did not have a scratch on it, was super clean and smelled really bad when i was breaking it in just like all sleds....but i guess i could be wrong too. i might just be sol on this one. just can't figure how a shaved stock head would get on a brand new sled.

I would call Cat's Customer Service. I did when my 99 700 Powder Special blow up with only a 100 miles on it. I eventually got a brand new motor.

i left a message with cat's customer service yesterday and i have not heard anything from them yet. i also called the dealer that i bought the sled from and am waiting to get a call back from the owner tomorow. i doubt that will get me anywhere though. i pick up the sled tomorow so i will have the head in hand and know more then. anyone else have any ideas?

Good luck contacting the Cat Rep.
I called multiple times on a problem, leaving messages with the lady that answered the phone with no luck.
The Cat Rep wouldn't even return my call.
Dealer is your best bet, but if you bought from someone else you probably will be penalized. Good Luck

the sled was bought from extreme. why are you asking? the owner from extreme has contacted me and seems to want to make it right. i will getting together with him sometime this week. I will post a pic of the head later.
