Problem removing the rear suspension! (Nytro MTX)

So everything went as planned. I removed the chain case, the gears and the chain. The two 14mm bolts that holds the rear suspension to the tunnel came off easy!
The right 14mm bolt for the suspension also came off easy, but the left one!?!? It just spins and because Im alone on this project, I cant spin the bolt and see what the problem is?

Anyone else who has encountered this? :face-icon-small-con

Use a air gun and if that don't work, tighten the other one back in, loosen the other side than remove the other side again..... think that made sense lol

It sounds like the shaft is spinning. Try putting the right bolt back in and snug it up, but not real tight. Then see if the left one will come out. If it does, then hopefully, the right will come out without the shaft spinning. Good luck.

The best way I've found is to add a nut to the bolt that you can get out. Put it back in with the extra nut. Tighten the nut against the tunnel really good and then loosen the stuck side. Now you can loosen the nut by holding a wrench on the bolt also.

yep, that is the game to play....

Thanks for the help guys! This forum really is #1!!!

An 18V Impact Wrench (?) and some acrobatics solved the problem!
Here are some pics that I just took. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Now.
What should I do? Should I flip the track backwards and cut the lugs a couple of millimeters, or should I buy a Challenger Extreme?
A company near by has a new track of the old stiffer version of the Extreme, but Its quite expensive.

The Kit on the Nytro is a MCX 270hp.

But what do you think has happened to my drive wheels?
Check out the right side? I looks like it has been quite some heat on that side. Has the track been to slack or what do you think is the problem?

The left side seems ok,

But the right side is not ok,

I took a knife and shaved the edge of the right wheel, and now it looks okey, but what do you think has happened?

Could they have possibly spun a bit on the shaft putting them slighly out of phaze? Go with avid drivers and a new track.

First off I have to say that looks like a laboratory that you are working in. That is awesome.

I think an mcx 270 happened to the driver. It is surprising that the other one is in good shape like that. It is possible that the driver has twisted on the shaft a little bit and therefore isn't aligned properly and is wearing a little more.

Get the new track. That Maverick is horrible. I bet your 270 kit feels more like a 240 kit or less with that thing.

maybe im looking at this wrong... but isnt that the left side driver that is bad? seems to me, looking at it from the pic, the wear on that driver is on the back side of the lugg. so it seems to me the drivers may not be aligned, and the "slot" in the track is catching on the back side of that lugg with a lot of pressure, tearing it up. or, that is the left side driver and that mcx 270 may have done it too. not sure, but i would definitely check that the drivers are set the same. as far as turning n cutting the track, i know i was wondering the same thing, but i have heard of people losing whole luggs off the track after doing this. this was a booty design for a nytro track. let us know how it goes if you do cut n spin that track tho.

That looks like hi-fax plastic to me. looks like it melted onto the driver(maybe from miss-allignment or spun/misstimed driver). Like mentioned above, that should be on the left side driver(according to the side the buildup is on and the roatation of the drivers. Unless you run in reverse all the time? :face-icon-small-sho

ya, didnt even think of reverse. maybe check the track for a tweaked link :face-icon-small-con(whatever those pieces of metal are on the track???)
