Pro Suspension upgrades???

W

winter

Well-known member
I am looking for some hands on experiance on up-grades to the Pro Suspension.
In past IQR and XP builds I have mainly used EZ-Ride Rear and Z-Broz up front, I am new to the pro chassis and am looking for input.
These days I am usually riding with my 9yr old son up front while I am standing. We do not like to be limited by where we ride so really good suspension is a must so he does not get bounced around.
The Pro is great but, the suspension can be improved upon.
If you have experianced different After Market suspensions on this chasses please feel free to post your favorite set-up.
Thanks.

I have the zbroz 36 inch kit with Fox Evol R's on the front and the Burandt shock package on the rear. It makes a big difference over stock.

the fox rear package really helps but for the simplicity i would go with coil shocks for the rear (Zbros or Raptor)

for a cheaper upgrade maybe try the triple rate spring package from Raptor or Zbros
i'm considering the front springs rather than front shocks to save the pocket book a little

Thanks guys, keep em coming, I am familiar with the Z broz, but little else.
The z-broz where the best for the Mts. in my opinon back when I was building sleds, not sure what compares now.
Thanks again.

KMOD all the way Kevin has a rear sizer assembly not too exp works great

Riding with your son, get a trail sled!!

X2. Mine is a totally different sled now. It trenches way less with the KMOD also. Got mine with the Raptor clicker shock; do it once, do it right!! I learned my lesson trying just a spring kit!!

Winter... You should try my sled when I'm up in your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks.

Float equipped Timber Sled Mtn Tamer on a 2013.

They also offer a rear-only kit.

I like the fast adjustability and the quality, simplicity and fit/finish of these units.

Yes, I would love to test ride your sled, currently the conditions are fantastic, I am planning on selling the 800 and buying a 600 to build to perfection, I am looking at the Timbersled for the 600 and a couple other custom builds.
Please PM me and let me know when you are in the area.
Will be fun to finally meet.

Yes ,thank you dawgwood, my son is my most favorite riding partner, always laughs, cheers to go faster, loves the snow in his face, never gets lost, never complains when we get stuck. We have been doing this for 5 years. We can go anywhere together that I can go alone.
Love to see others out riding with thier kids rather then leaving them home to play video games or watch TV.

I went Zbroz Exits all around this season and will never ride another sled without doing suspension. I LOVE this setup and the ease of use, I don't like dealing with pressure changes of air shocks.

I know your IQR builds really well Winter, **** I built a few copy cats lol.

I sold my last IQR with a iqRMK stock skid that I originally had a Ez Ryde under. Wanted to try it in the Pro just because I wasn't getting its value selling it with the IQR. Damn thing is a dream in the PRO I wasn't so sure because I had mixed feelings with it in the IQR. Could never get enough transfer, way to much ski pressure etc, bending shafts. I haven't ridden any other aftermarket skid, but against the stock skid it works like magic. Since your familiar with them I would recommend trying one in/under your PRO its a perfect fit in my opinion. If you were satisfied with your IQRs you will be amazed with it under a PRO.

My12 Pro falls over better then the Skidoo XM 36" stance all day, Rear skid placement has a lot more to do with the side hill ability then one thinks. I am running zbroz arms 39" and Walker CR shocks up front with Zbroz dual rate springs. The ez ryde is like cheating under the PRO. Everyone brags how easy the PRO is to throw around but there is great improvement to me made with the Ez Ryde under these sleds. IMO

I've ridden with Fox Evol-X's (front) the last 4 years on my Polaris sleds and they are a dream. Light, smooth, and sooo adjustable...can be tuned for anything without sending back to a factory a bunch of times which for me is huge.

Since 11' I've run the "Burandt" rear skid package and it absolutely makes the stock skid a great set-up. That kit makes the stock WE shocks look pretty sad (which is hard because for stock shocks they are pretty decent)

Then unfortunately (lol) I rode a couple friends pros with Timbersleds last season and now have one under my 13' 146 build. It's absolutely the smoothest most unreal thing I've ever ridden. Quality of machining/welding looks like it was built for an MIT project (basically amazing) with some of my favorite features being hard ano cross shafts and the fact that they take the time and $$ to use different wall thickness 4130 cro-mo tubing for strength where needed and an overall lightweight finished product.
