Pro RMK vs. Ski Doo XP

all i know was i was die hard doo.... went with the poo for the price and warranty and extras was still cheaper than the doo... i am convinced, and i had my die hard doo buddys thinkin twice and eatin their words about my 140 horse 15 wide track!

but i must say 20 min out and already a bent a - arm. . . . . man them things are weak.

270 miles on the long weekend though.

takes a little to get used to but once you do, the things you can pull are amazing.. im never lookin back.

glad the a-arm didn't mess up your ride.

them Poo logs are pretty nice. they get up on the snow and go,,,,, but my xp spanked one today like a red headed step child. we swapped sleds and i was impressed with the pro Poooo, but did not have the same pull threw the power band or wide open throttle like my 2010 xp. they are pretty close up to 3/4 throttle, but thats where the pro power band stopped compared to the xp. xp had another shot of grunt that made the pro look like a kids toy. we raced up a hill and when it got steeper and deeper the pro held its speed but the xp just walked away. after my buddy rode my xp he had the deer in headlights look and said,,,,,,,i dont like how it always trys to flatten out on the track,,, wont stay on its side......ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, yeah sucks to ride a sled that feels so much stronger then the one you just bought. maybe 2012 Poo will come out with 151 or more horse sled

havent rode with any 2011 or 2010 xp's but my friends have 08s and 09s 154s and 163s and my 155 pro will spank them the 154s were even having trouble going in my tracks and power wise my pro feels alot stronger than thier xps crazy how people have similar sleds and such different rusults

THE ANSWER

HI
OK I Took a Polaris RMK PRO 800 and Skidoo XP 800 from my dealer for the weekend and put them through the paces myself. I bought the Polaris, heres why.... i am a good sledder, not spectacular and far from novice. i have owned and rode for 9 years and 10 thousand miles so this fits the average Joe... The Polaris got on its side and stayed there more easily. The steering took less efort so i was less tired. The power was close enough to the same that it was not a contributing factor. I could cut and carve with less effort. Side hilling was easier. I put 50 off trail miles on the Skidoo before getting on the Polaris and then you couldnt get me off the Polaris because of the less effort and ease of rideing. I am Very happy with my new Pro RMK.....It Rocks!!!! bp

a pic of 2 tracks on a hill would settle this once and for all.

maybe:)

Sorry for the delay in post. I am riding the Assault, but have the 5.1 on it...I am 250lbs. The Doo I was up against was a 154" E-Tec with ELECTRIC START (how brutal is that) and a 220lb rider, with less riding ability.

he beat me in all climb-off's...

In fairness, I did adjust the limiter strap bar into the same position as the PRO RMK since and it does seem to climb a little better now.

but yours is an assault and not a rmk right?

i think we are real close to crowning the xp as king of the hill sled again this year:)
not even close..I have heard 3 doo guys come on here and say the doo goes better, I have heard many many times that say the poo goes better...I will say that under the right conditions..any sled can beat any sled..but the majority of opinions/results out on the hill says the poo rules this season...maybe next year the doo can ...

I took some pics tonight of my PRO vs my wifes XP in the garage tonight.

accesibility on the PRO looks to be much easier to work on under the hood then the XP

Is this a set up? :biggrin1:

(Btw, thanks for the pics)

Wow! Your wife is lucky, that XP looks 10 times better!!!

Funny thing is she doesnt care even what she rides. Which ever one is easier to carve is what she will ride. When there are trails Im sure she will be on the XP.

This is what I sold for my PRO. I hope I made the right decision by taking a POO.

We Went out today and found the biggest hill to steep to climb out. My son on his xp and my son on my Pro. The Pro is the high mark. Not by much they are very close. It really come down to the rider. I love my Pro and son loves his xp?

give your son the gift of Rooster built clutching for his xp and you will sell your Poo

this is what makes me laugh the hardest, to even get to within 20 feet of the Pro you need to spend another $300 bucks on clutching after you just spend $11+ or more on a new Doo. I really wish I knew of someone around here with an e-tech and an open mountain with no tracks on it, I bet the Pro man handles that Doo with ease:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap
