Pro RMK Shocks on IQ RMK

Has anyone tried this yet. Ive read that the front end on the Pros are much lighter than the IQs but I don't think that there is that much of a difference in weight on the front skis themselves. With only a 3/8" diff. in shock length, it seems that it might be OK.

I tried it. They fit with no issues but I felt they were valved completely wrong. The IQ is quite a bit heavier and most of that weight is taken off the front end.

If you had them re-valved they would probably work well.

File the bushing on what end Milehigh ? (see parts diagram)

The PRO RMK shocks are about .30" longer ... the spring rates are similar and will be good as long as you are running a swaybar.

Send them into Holz for re-valving and they can add a shim inside the shock (between the head #8 and the piston #18) to bring your ride height back down to normal for the IQ which is crucial. Simply decreasing the spring preload, without shimming the shaft, to drop the ride height to the proper measurement will make the sled wallow in the corners and not maintain control "on edge" very well.

As a Bolt-On... without re-valve... because the sled weights are 40+ lbs different... I would not recommend them... If you get a great price on them... makes it worth the approx $100 revalve/service charge plus shipping both ways.
