Pro RMK Setup / Must Haves? I'm new to Polaris, Help!

Hey Everyone,

I just picked up a 2013 Pro RMK limited edition 800, got a smoking deal on a used sled with crazy low miles.

I've been a Ski-Doo guy for the last 6 years, and dont know my way around a po-po to well. Any setup / advice from you all?

I'm guessing the usually stuff, skid plate (who makes a good one?) Do a need a belt drive skid plate? Seems like a week spot. How about bracing? Its got a warmer dash bag on it, does that thing hold up well when I roll the thing???

Any tips for dialing the sled in? I know the doo/XP had a million things I would have to do to get it running right.. suspension mostly.

Any other advice with the sled? My buddy said to put a chug of oil in every full gas tank to add a little insurance.

Polaris skid plates fine, a better front bumper is a good idea, if you are nit picky about suspension but dont want to spend a ton you can put zbro or raptor springs in. A quick drive skids the way to go, skinz, vanamburgh or wrp. A rear bumper or bumper tube if you use a bunje. Dont load the tunnel up. Mike taylor foot well vents. Cans a waste of money stock ones super light. Splash of oil in tank or turn your oil pump up, bikeman has a video on it.

Not sure if you get the new quick drive belt? I would also put a slp torque arm on

Sledneck has got a pretty good list for ya.

Only other things I would add would be a gauge lifter, Pro Armor tether, some side venting, snow flap from PDP. and a Sled Solutions tunnel bag.

And if you want, loose the glued stock a-arms for a set of Z-Broz A-arms.

Sledneck_03-

I heard about turning up the oil pump as well. Do you know where I can find the video on how to properly to do that. I can't seem to find it on YouTube....

All good suggestions.
I will re iterate dump the 2013 a arms and get some after market ones.
Timber sled z bros alt impact or some 2014 Polaris a arms ( looks like they fixed them)

Mountain Addiction Gas Rack
VE Belt Guard-TeddUnlimited.com
Skins Front and Rear Bumpers
Make sure clamp is on drive shaft
Some sort of tether
Polaris Skid Plate

I can feel your pain!

I am going through the exact same thing... ski-doo guy forever, really loved riding the pro, picked up a13 on a good deal and I am freaking cause I don't know the thing in and out. And I doubled down, mine has a silber turbo kit on it. :face-icon-small-sho

I do have to say since I have the thing half apart in my garage, it is easier to work on than the doo's once you get the hang of it. I would say the design is more straight forward, than doo's.

Cheers
Shawn

About how many threads are left showing after 3 turns? I think mine was about 3 threads showing, maybe 2?.. Mine ended up being a pain as the paint had really gotten into the nut/threads so the whole unit was turning while I was trying to adjust it. Just wanna make sure I didn't go too far.
