Pro RMK issues.. Antifreeze in oil

New to the forum posting for a friend. Sled is a 2013 Pro Rmk. About 900 miles on it and have had various problems since purchase including breaking both front and rear overstructures. Anyways, after a good ride on Saturday, Ryan brought his sled home and took it for a ride on Sunday. Sled died and now it won't go over 3600 rpm. So we figured the throttle was frozen but we also noticed the sled barely used oil. Upon looking at the oil line we noticed it was bright green. ANTIFREEZE. Doing a drip test on paper showed separation of fluids. Definitely antifreeze in oil and oil in antifreeze. So my question is, what is causing this? Lower end? Why would rpms be limited? Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Jack

I dont think there is any way Antifreeze can get into the injection system. Your buddy must have filled his reservoir up with an old oil/antifreeze container. Lack of lubrication will definately cause the motor to loose rpm and eventually seize. JMO.

That's exactly what I thought when I read the title.

Antifreeze can get into the motor if one of the ports crack or have damage. I saw this happen with the wrong bolt was tightened down for the power valves. This bolt went through the wall and coolant went into the block. If the cylinders have any damage similar to this, you could get antifreeze in the oil.

Not seized.. Definitely an electronic issue. Sounds exactly how a skidoo runs when the DESS is not on properly. Pulls over fine. Compression is low at 110 each. He has never put antifreeze in that sled since he bought it a month ago. When all of this happened the antifreeze cap was blown off as well.

Another thing to note that happened the day before, most likely unrelated: bracket holding bottom-most part of polaris's multi part steering system broke, this took out exhaust valve actuator pump hose. Had to rob the screw from the other side of the pump. Not sure if this would mess with anything but it ran for a period of time with that pump disconnected.

I will get him to send me pictures of the antifreeze oil tomorrow for sure.

If the coolant system is pressurized enough to blow the cap off... well, that can't happen either because the pressure builds and then releases through the over flow.

But let's say the coolant system is being over pressurized. That points to a compression side leak from the combustion chamber to the coolant system. Typically blown inner head O-rings. Coolant will also typically look dirty, turn black when that happens.

You say he's had it for a month, so does he know the history of it before he bought it?

As others have said, there is no way to get antifreeze into the oiling system without putting antifreeze in the bottle. It is not physically possible to do.

Youre right, it can't be blown off. Yes we know the previous owner pretty well he is an RMK guru so going to talk to him tomorrow. I should also add that he topped off oil before our ride on Saturday. When he checked oil after this problem on Sunday, level had barely gone down half an inch at most. Riddle me that

Radiator caps just don't blow off cooling systems like this. Oil was put in the antifreeze and antifreeze in the oil tank.

If there is a crack in the cylinder or a head gasket is leaking, you'll get exhaust into the coolant system, and the coolant will leak out into the heads or cylinder...check the antifreeze fluid levels. Sure sign of that is a grey exhaust gas color inside the antifreeze bottle.

You CAN'T get antifreeze into the oil lines unless antifreeze was added to the oil reservoir tank via the fill cap..
