Pro RMK Gearing and Helix?

Does anyone know what will be the chaincase gears from factory?

The 155" and the 163"?

What helix numbers will they use from factory?

May be one tooth Diff.. On the 163" on the Top Gear..

Gears/Chain can be changed very easy..

May be they are the SAME..

Next year will know..

Gearing

I asked one of the Polaris guys at the sneek peak. He said gearing on the 155 Pro was 2.1:1 ... he thought. ?? But had no idea of what gears. If he's correct I guess that would be 20/42.

On 155" 20/42 gearing
room for improvement for deep pow guys.

We wont know until they hit the showroom floor next fall.

The parts fiche early-releases are often incorrect.

The current IQ/Edge HYVO gears will switch over... the chain is a different length though.

The clutching/Gearing needs for this chassis will be similar if not identical to the past IQ models in the same track length.

Anyone who says that they will come with "X" Helix and "Y" weights and "Z" springs is guessing until the first units are delivered to the dealers.

Yep, pretty much what mountainhorse said. I looked at this thread more than once before replying. Even though I had ask a "factory rep". All speculation 'til someone tears into one this fall. What I tried to convey was the Polaris guy didn't really know 100% either.

Mountainhorse, you say the chain is a different length.

From looking at the pictures of the stripped down chassis..... I would assume that it is shorter than the 2008 to 2010 models?

Yep, the chaincase is shorter... probably a weight reduction thing... The jackshaft now is almost touching the bulkhead... cutting weight where they can is thier new motto.

NO change in tunnel/track clearance from the previous model though.

not a betting man but i am thinking its a 68 link..

70 pitch for the PRO RMK 72 for the Rush (it runs a 23 tooth top...wow)

Any idea why they didn't go with the Team Tied secondary? I assume they are still using the 7 year old TSS '04 ??

Paul,

The Team Tied did not have enough use "under its belt" yet... Not enough for an OEM to make thousands of sleds with them... One variable at a time.

People are still trying to wrap thier head around translations and making them work as well as possible.

I have a Team tied... It has its Plus' and Minus'

Why didn't doo go with a divorced secondary and run the Tied vs the problematic QRS?

gearing for the pro ride 155-163 is 20t-42t with a 72p chain... the sec. is running a 56/42/.36 helix with a black spring... and how i know this is it's on polaris parts online it's been there for a week now... nothing on the assault yet...

imo, all you guys who swear by droping a tooth or two are just makeing up for poor clutching.

This is true to a point the 56-42-36 helix just is a dog for a helix. This pro should have 62-40-46 or a 64-40-46 and a gear ratio of about 2.15 with a 155, 2.20 or about for the 163.

i am not close to understanding clutching ot the point of which i would feal able to clutch some one else's sled efficiently....BUT i had it explained to me that the lower gearing can make your clutches have ot shift to much and it causes excessive heat and loss of proper performance.... Idk?

I geared my 900 way down and it was awsome...till i raced a stock 700 that smoked me...

Has anyone looked into their chaincase and verified the gearing and the chain yet?

Is it 20-42 tooth 70 pitch like it was stated earlier?

Were the previous Dragons a 70 pitch chain also?

20/42 72 pitch chain according to online parts catalog here. chaincase is shorter than IQ.
