going to put on an extra cooler in the summer ... which is best ??... and who sells aluminum profile, if I build a custom cooler ..

What about adding the stock cooler in the front of the tunnel that comes stock on the base model rmk's.Just a thought.

I thought the RMK came with two coolers. ? (is it the production model that comes with the front cooler, and the snowcheck Pro does not?)

I still really havn't figured WHY we need another cooler...

AKA Extra Weight.. when the stock cooler do just fine.. ya low snow gets up to high 140's but **** when we were running the old iron.. who had a temp gauge. to look at ever 2 mins..

Food for thought...

Ok, so why would you want to get a pro if your just going to put one back in it. wouldnt you be better to go with the base model then up grade your shocks? Or am I missing Dan's objective?

Pro needs upgraded shocks anyway so... yeah, live and learn.

As for NapaMatt's comment - doesn't work that way in the mtns when the snow crusts over late and you're trying to get back off the mtn on whooped out trails that you can't get enough speed on (this is WITH scratchers down AND better flap). Sled starts pulling timing over 180 deg and will start shutting sled down at 210. Very disappointed I went with the Pro instead of the standard RMK, especially since the shocks suck anyway on the Pro.

Have FUN!

I agree....I was riding in some of the warmest conditions I've ever ridden in the past 2 weekends and still had no problem with keeping the temps reasonable. All the trails are whoopped out this time of year.....maybe some of your guy's sleds have a bad t-stat, air bubble in cooling system, etc?? Not trying to bag, I just can't see how some guys have no issue with this and others say they basically can't keep it cool.....

I know how to bleed a cooling system and warm temps have zero to do with it (quite the opposite in fact); was in the 50's today and I ran my '07 Summit all day without scratchers! With the Pro I'm usually the last one off the mtn and ride back on iced over trails well after dark. Good luck with your Pro in those conditions. And the guys at Carl's and FTX must be idiots like me too because they say the Pro needs better cooling...
If you haven't experienced it then it's because you've had better conditions, plain and simple, because it's not if it but WHEN it will happen to you.

Have FUN!

PS - Thankful for a 4 yr warranty as I'm sure mine will be coming in handy soon...

Fair enough, like I said....wasn't trying to bag, just wondering if (perhaps) there was something mechanical at play that might be a simpler fix. Carls and FTX have coolers to sell you....of course they'll say it's a good idea. My season is pretty much over and never had an issue in any conditions, so again I was just curious why such a large discrepency in experiences??

My PRO bounced off 200 degs while creeping along a hardpacked goat path with scratchers down, so in my case it will get hot if the coolers don't see snow for awhile. The Dragons and XP's with us did not get hot. That is however a rare event for me. No, I'm not adding a cooler.
