PRO RMK COVERS, WHAT FITS ... FACTORY AND AFTERMARKET.

As stated before, on long trips, i would like to have the option to cover it. If the weather is good, you're right, no real benefit to covering it. If i'm traveling long distances and the weather is rainy/snowy, it would be nice for me to 1) protect the sled and 2) not have all frozen controls when i get to my destination and want to pull it off and ride. Also, during the winter months, my sled pretty much spends most of it's time on my ToyUp deck locked with the super clamp. With the time it spends up there, having it protected from the sun would be nice since i dont always put it back in my enclosed if i know i'm going riding again soon.

Are those enough reasons to just answer my post instead of questioning why i want a cover?

In the past I have always said if your going to buy a cover, saddle bags, etc. go with the best OEM has to offer. Everything fits. And your right about it being on the truck. It will get trashed with rain, snow, sand, salt (in MN anyway) when semi tractor trailers are blowing by at 80 mph. I would look at what the Flying Dutchman is saying. Good luck with your purchase.

We have been very happy with our Skinz Protective Gear covers. They are a PITA the first couple times you put them on, but after that, takes about a minute a cover.
Keeps the sleds clean.
No flapping haulin' down the road.
Super flex so they don't freeze stiff.

Can't recommend them enough.

I just picked up a Polaris cover 2878741. It's the "premium" poly cover with the cotton liner. It fits real nice on the '13. Reinforced in all the right places including along the running board. Still going to put a foamy over the edge of the board cause I can't see anything not getting chewed up by the board grips.
Otherwise looks and fits great.

There are 4 straps included, two for each side. The locations are by the footwell and just before the end of the running board. In the pic the straps are not connected. Also there is a strap between the windshield and bars, apparently to adjust for different windshield heights.

Flying Dutchman, after doing a little searching, it appears that your cover is one of last years snowcheck covers, correct? Was it a leftover? It appears that it would fully cover a 163" tunnel ?

The 2013 snowcheck poly cover is part # 2879167. The box says it's for 11'-13' Rush(pro-ride) RMK Switchback Assault 144"-166". It will stretch MAYBE half-way down my tunnel (163). OK, so it only covers the seat(dealer confirmed this), but it's not at all fitted for that either, it's somewhere in between. When I look back to the PRO section of my '13 snowcheck brochure, there's a picture of it fully covering a sled, now I realize that the photo is of a shortrack.

Dealer said that this is the correct cover, Polaris is just trying to have fewer models cover more sleds. The front is great, but the way it fits over the seat and just lays on the tunnel is like a $200 bad joke.

When it comes to covers nothing beats the Skinz Protective Gear waterproof cover. I've used one and seen it's value first hand against brand X's cover. Sure enclosed trailers are nice if you have one.

$12,000 machine don't skimp on the cover....Skinz might be expensive but you'll only buy it once. Since they are universal you can use it on your next sled, and the next sled etc....

You've got the wrong cover. The RMK cover has not changed in years, it is the same cover for the IQ RMK's as for the Pro RMK's. There is the old canvas style or the newer poly/cotton cover that will fit both the 155" and 163".

yes this is a snowcheck cover from last year. Right on the box it says 144-166".
Mine is a 155 and I can stretch it a bit further, so i would say it would fit the 163. I was concerned if the 13 bars were different and if the small change in the seat was an issue. The dealer said no problems.
Around here, the only covers I could find were the canvas style for a mere $250.
I've never had problems with the canvas style but after finding these for $150, it was a simple decision.

Awe man, I would love for this to be the wrong one. but even when I google the part number it takes me to the snow check page below, and there it is. in the sled protection section. Same Exclusive snow check model i ordered last spring, same stripe pattern, same #'s. I dunno, but your right, it sure looks like the wrong one on the sled, I'm embarrassed to drive her down the street !

Have owned 3 of these covers over many years - and they are still as good as new!

A trip over 100's of miles one way I watched 2 stock covers get shreaded while mine was 3 years old and kept the sled nice and dry, clean, with no scratches because it doesn't flap.

Nothing but good things to say about this company. Great covers to start with, that work on all brands of sleds - I went from Doo to Poo with same cover no problem.

I had a small tear/hole in a seam on a cover that was 3 years old. Called Skinz, told them it was clearly out of warranty, explained the situation, no questions asked they said "send it to this address, etc." They repaired it no cost and still have it with no problems. This alone sold me!

Compare prices - when I last looked a few years ago, Skinz was about the same price as a Doo factory cover. There was still no doubt in my mind that Skinz was the way to go.

well i will say that the factory cover for the 12 ruiined a new pair of the polaris handguards. bent them down far enough that they broke and the first trip. so watch for that.

I have a 2013 Pro Rmk with a Polaris cover and you will have to put some protection on the run boards as they are razor sharp. My dealer left the foam protection on from factory and said to use it for trailering.

I still use my m8 cover on mine on the deck if it sits over night. Works great as it doubles as a security system/theft deterrent! No one would ever steal a cat

Hahaha me too, I got asked in McCall why I run a Cat cover on a Pro and I said "anti-theft" and the dude got pissed and jumped on his Cat and split

Question about the Skinz cover: can you leave it on the sled all the time? I always make sure the sled is covered in the garage because otherwise it gets dust on it.

I got the 2013 snowcheck cover and she's TIGHT on the 155, not sure how you'd get it over 163. Doesn't help that I got a rack on tunnel and handguards, but with a little finesse I wrap her up each time. I'm actually hoping it'll stretch a little over time. I left it covered up for about a week though with no give. Two hauls and a lot of garage time and it's doing great but that's not a lot of road yet.
