Ive gotten a lot of PMs on this.....and yes, Rooster Built is working on a mountain setup for the pro. I am impressed with the progress we have made in climbing track speed, rpm stability and belt temps and life.
Having been away from Polaris for several years i was surprised at how hot the stock clutching was and how quickly we junked a belt. Very uncharacteristic of the p-85 that i know. We have taken care of that.
Hoping to have a clutching and gearing combination for those interested soon.... We need to test in some different conditions and altitudes and be confident we have squeezed all we can out of it before we will offer anything.
Just another option for the mountain guys. Thanks for the interest!

Glad to see you working so hard on the pro clutching Brew. I cannot wait to see the setup run on the hill, I bet it will work awsome just going off what you have done with the XP clutching. Now the big question, after working on polaris and riding them again does this meen that you are going to take back all the bad things you have said about them over the past few years. LOL:face-icon-small-ton

Im still on a Doo and still poke fun at Polaris :face-icon-small-win
Both great sleds with their plusses and minuses.
We generally ride 4-7k....like we did with Doo we will not offer a setup for the higher (or lower) altitudes until we have proven the setup to ourselves at those elevations.
It will likely not be cheap, we will offer only an entire package and if that requires a different chain and gears that will drive up the cost... Unless a guy already has the correct gearing.... But we wont compromise just to keep costs down or to sell more setups. We are liking the MDS weight profile and those are not cheap either.

Glad I already have the MDS weights. Looks like I have one other update for next year now....

Good to see some real world facts and comparisons. Although sometimes entertaining, SnoWest can get bogged down with brand loyal bs. I like that you post your testing elevation and location. One thing I have noticed is that different conditions dictate entirely different set-ups. I try to "tune" my sled to run optimally when our conditions where I ride are ideal. 12-18 inches of fluff, 7-10k in elevation. I do know this, I will take a well set-up clutch kit over an engine mod any day of the week.

Have seen the Rooster mad scientists on the hill several times, I must say that it is looking good. Each trip out is gets better. I have no doubt the wait will be worth it, some of the best clutching discipline out there goes into what they do.
