Pro RMK Assault Track

Well I just picked up a new Pro RMK Assault 155 today and will be going out to Island Park next week and wanted to get feed back from other assault owners how the stock track worked compared to the stock Pro RMK's.

hate to be the one to tell, that assualt track diggs (in a bad way). IMO it dosen't float like the one on the pro.

Hill climb tracks are kinda useless. What is the point of a hardpack track on a powder sled? Who is going to get stuck on hardpack? Are there that many hillclimb racers out there that neeed them to come oem from the factory???

There are a bunch of video's on youtube of guys with the dragon assaults with the shorter tracks in powder and they seem to do fine. I can only imagine the 155 would float even better than those. Of corse it wont float as well as the 5.1, but I would try it first and see if its worth it to you to switch tracks.

personally I Love the Assault track.....the only thing I don't like about it is that you have to be careful not to dig to deep and catch it on anything...I ripped an 8" stump in half but i also tore the lugs of my track...the track will also throw lugs if you go too fast....Otherwise I love it .....I love the way it grabs on the trails going up to the deep snow and it works well in deep powder also......The track is perfect for spring conditions when the snow gets harder...i can't wait....and that is what the track is for.....Not only does it accommodate hillclimbers with a competitive track but it also is perfect for backcountry riding in the spring.....its not just for hillclimbers!!......I never noticed a significant drawback.....compared to my powder track Challenger Extreme 2.5...in fact I miss the Assault track so much I'm getting another one and will be changing it next week....

most of the snow i get to ride in is heavy, wet or hard pack, very few high steep climbs but a ton of back country...this is where this track shines, big time! just spent the weekend in 4-5 feet of bottomless powder and found it worked excelent there as well. the hook-up on this track is wicked:face-icon-small-hap

I rode 3 days with 3 assaults and in my opinion, that track is the biggest pile of junk I have ever seen for anything but hardpack snow. Digs straight down and you are stuck right now. Was not impressed at all. I was really looking forward to seeing what they would do after all the positive reviews on the RMK's. Not a powder sled at all. If I had one it would have a different track.

Out west, the snow is bottomless. We have had 100+ inch base in most areas for about 6 weeks. If the Assault track has something hard to grab onto it does hook up, if it doesn't, it just keeps trenching down looking for something. Buddy has a PC on his 55 and his brother in law has a 2.5 CE, I have the 5.1 on mine. All great tracks and have their perks in certain conditions. I haven't ran the stock hill climb track since middle of October, however....

I hate this track for deep snow. I just ordered a CE 2.5.

Anything but high water density snow, and this thing just digs, and digs, and digs some more. It's funny to look at the pictures from a recent ride of ours, 4 feet deep sugar snow..and all of my stuck pics, the sled is almost straight up and down, in a 4-5 foot deep trench. Not the same story for a couple other sleds with me, all close to equal rider skill. The other Pro in my group was not digging half as bad as me, with the 5.1 track.

I have run this track on hardpack or really wet snow, and it did do great then.

i would say it works as bad in the pow as it does good in the setup. hooks like no other in setup conditions, makes your sled feel like its got another 20hp. digs a trench like no other in the pow, if your looking to bury cable in some deep pow this is the track to have:)

if i weren't so lazy i'd probably run the 5.1 unti spring and then switch over, have seen the assault track keep digging on windblown icy condition where my 5.1 couldn't get grip. have also seen it trench so hard in pow it took 3 stucks to get it going where my 5.1 just pulled right out...

First trip west with my Assault convinced me to throw a 5.1 on until Spring. Worth every $.
