Have a buddy with a 12 pro 800. Was running good and thought the day it started having a hesitation when in the throttle. Let off and it'd clear up for a while. When it would hesitate the engine light would flash. Drained the fuel, thinking perhaps it was **** gas. Got some more gas, starts idles, if the engine light is on it won't rev past 3500 and won't move. When the light goes off(whenever it wants) it'll run normal. Any ideas? Thanks

Mine was doing similar thing and the code it threw was 173 - 3, changed the exhaust sensor and all is good... Check to see what code it displays when engine light is on...

Yea I think that's going to be our only real answer but we were just trying to save a trip to the dealer to drop the sled off, go pick it back up and pay who knows how much to just have it read

Something else for you to consider would be the throttle safety switch sticking. It'll do exactly as you say. Rev to 3500 then go limp til u get off the throttle

we can eliminate the exhaust solenoid being the cause. swapped exhaust solenoids with another buddies pro rmk800 same issue. when the lights off runs fine with a hesitate here and there, and when the light comes on 3500 rpm.
two things when noticed, if you were around 4000-4500 ish on throttle and when it would hesitate the light would come on, itd go to the 3500 limp mode for a second before revving higher again....

also idling while the light is on the head lights seem flickery and when you switch between the hand warmers the head lights really dim. possible bad volt regulator? low voltage?

Tell him to read the owners manual it tells you in there how to see what the code is as long as the engine light is still on. Then after you retrieve the code look in that magical little owners manual and it will tell you what the problem is.:face-icon-small-win

yea ill have to see if our buddy got a manual for his, cause the one that isnt running, no manual.

Same thing happened to me. It's the throttle sensor. There is play in it and if its not just right it will down this. Took mine in and pulled the code it was the throttle sensor. Make sure it's not getting stuck cold weather water etc

He took the sled in finally. Pulled a tps code. They were digging around cut a zip tie code went away drove it 20 mins and can't get the light to come back on!
