Anyone on here ride a 600 pro here in our mountains? Thinking about getting one for my wife to ride and I might ride it occasionally too. Just looking for opinions based on first hand experience. Thanks!

If it's got a 155 track you should have no problem around here!I have an '07 600 HO RMK 155 and have no problems!

my wife rides a pro 600 and I've taken it quite afew times, its areally fun sled to ride and will go anywhere, btw go 155 for sure

Agreed-

My wife's 2012 pro is a great sled and at times, feels like an 800. Very good sled for building confidence in the mountains.

Wife rides Pro 600 155. I don't think there could be a better sled for her... I love riding it too. It rips! Pierre's setup. Frankly a decent rider on her little sled can out ride average riders on 800's.

Do it! My girlfriend has a 12' 600 and it is a blast to ride. She loves it and wouldn't touch my 13' 800 162. She has been riding since she was 6 years old. I have rode hers several times as well as several demo sleds and I like the 600. I have been considering a 600 to replace my 800.

The only drawback is in the super steep and fluffy stuff. I noticed the track speed slowed enough to hinder me. However I still made it to the top. :face-icon-small-hap

Is there any advantage to a 600 over an 800? The weight is the same, right? Just wondering how less power is better?

the main advantage i see is engine life. thicker cylinder walls, smaller pistons, less vibration, better cooling too. ive read the rmk vs. pro 800 discussions, and decided i want a 600 pro, as the extra cooler on the rmk wont be as big of necessity with a 6.
so when you compare a 600 pro to an 800 rmk it starts to make some sense imo. you can also add a 660 kit down the road which would be comparable to an 800 pro in terms of performance and price. sleeper sled FTW.

I have heard the 600s have less inertia because the reciprocating parts are lighter so the sled feels easier to maneuver. Ever notice that or is bull? See how I went way out of my way NOT to say flickable?

One of the best reasons to get a 6 is its not quite so torquee it got a softer bottom end and seems to be easier to handle for new riders it does not scare them like with the grunt of an 8 will. That's what my wife said. I think a 600 with boost would be the ultimate boondocker power and reliability

Don't kid yourself the 600 isn't in the same ballpark as the 800...like rider for like rider... but like I said the best wife sled out there. Wife loves hers.

hmmm...
kinda splitting hairs with that motor i bet, but i have heard somethin like that before. years ago there was a snowest article where they built up a 583 doo instead of a 670 iirc. said somethin about it being easier to throw aroundn stuff.
on the flipside, i remember when the old triple guys thought the "inertia" or more gyroscope type effect er somethin like that was a good thing, like it kept the sled on its line better. thats what im still sayin ridin my old 680 everywhere still, lol.
