Pro problem clutch help

Sled idles at1200 top end fine sled wants to keep going slowly like clutch isn't disengaging broken ,twisted spring
Can see shiny metal by spring on primary but spring looks fine

I will take a stab at a broken spring or belt deflection too tight-if I read your post correctly. Don't take this wrong, but maybe try to punctuate next time.

Is the belt chirping or squealing?

Definitely check the spring close.

Mmmm, punctuation good. Belt deflection set too tight? Bad...

Sorry for being a smart-***, but it really sounds like your belt deflection is just set too tight. If your track is trying to creep the sled forward @ idle (or squealing @ idle).

Please give us a few more details, along with a summary of your experience level with riding and wrenching on sleds.
Then we can really help steer you in the right way for sled maintenance.

Looks like the op is posting from a flip phone or something...

But ya, I'm with the others... If I'm reading it right, your deflection is to tight. It seems ALL the Pro's are coming with this problem

You have to losen the nut, take a hex wrench and tighten the hex inside the nut a little bit, then hold the hex wrench in one spot as you tighten the nut back down. Mess with that a bit and your creeping should stop.

BTW to set proper deflection, you want the track to slightly creep forward when the track is lifted off of the ground. So a bit of creep if you're facing down hill is possible, but when I got my new pro it would creep on flats and all kinds of stuff plus squeal like a pig all the time.

Use your belt removal tool to spead the clutch halves a touch before you do this so you don't damage the allen headed adjustment bolt. Easy to do. Not meant or built to just crank it in.

100 bucks says you have a broken and twisted primary spring! Buddy had this last week and sure enough...snapped primary spring...other than the "creeping" of the sled when stopped the performance wasn't impacted. But when we took the clutch apart the spring was bound up and made a mess of the inside of the clutches:(

I had a similar problem when the primary clutch broke in half, it was not visible until the clutch was removed and only half came off...

Did yours break right along the shiny shaft of the primary where the belt seats into it??

Cause mine did!!!

Just curious where your primary busted...

Mine literally snapped in half right where the belt is when not engaged.

Yep, broke right in the middle, symptom was slight drag at first then it would not disengage when trying to stop. I was solo at Togwotee and glad to make the long trek back without stalling it. The machine had 500 miles on it and glad to have it replaced under warranty :)
