PRO oil light wont go off

I have a 2012 PRO 600 with around 800 miles on it. The oil light will not go off and I am not sure why. I checked the wiring and connection and it seems good. Any suggestions????

I encountered the same issue, see this thread for the details: http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=330127

No solution was found & in the end my light eventually went out & appears to be working(for the time being)............

Short of confirming the integrity of the oil level switch & circuit to the ECM input, there appears to be little that can be done to troubleshoot this issue without Digital Wrench...............

Pull the sending unit from the oil tank. It's a tight fit but it's just a rubber stopper and it will pop off. The unit itself has a shaft with a small float similar to the gas gauge.

The float might be stuck.

Oil light issues

To test the oil level sender, remove it from the oil resivour and position the sender as it would be in the oil tank.

Allow the float to drop in the direction it would if the oil tank were empty.

Continuity should be present when using a multimeter to test the sender with the float in the "empty" position.

No continuity should be present when the float is moved away from the "empty" position.

What this means is by disconnecting it, the light should go out. If the sender checks out ok and you still have a light on, even with the float positioned at the top, the problem may be in the harness or ecm itself.

On the plug that connects to the sender, the brown/white is the ecm ground, and the violet is the signal to the ecm on pin 12 of the 34 pin connector.

Hope this helps,

You seem informed on this issue so perhaps you can answer the question I was asking in this thread???: http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=330127

After you've confirmed the condition of the oil level switch & circuit to the ECM as being good but the light is still staying on - then what??? Digital Wrench???

Thanks,

Glen

What to do next?

Digital wrench won't help except that in this case, i'd re-flash the ecm. This is the digital wrench troubleshooting proceedure, and if the re-flash doesn't fix it, and the sensor, wiring up to the connector check out, then it could be the ecm itself.

If you want to send me your VIN number by pm to me, i'll submit and ask polaris case about it and see what they recommend next.

Hope this helps,

Cheers
