Has anyone done a modification to their hood to make it removable with ease? Seams someone should come up with something.

Its not like its really that difficult to remove the hood from a pro in stock form. 2 bolts, 2 push darts and one harness plug. Try removing a hood from an XP.. lol..

Been riding an xp for 4 years so I feel your pain. I havnt even tried on the new pro. I just got it. Figured it was the same.

Ah I see, well good choice on switching to the pro chassi. Its much easier to work in most cases compared to the doo's. 5 mins or less and the hoods off for instance.

Not necesarily wanting to remove the hood to work on it, that would be simple for sure. What if a guy just wants a place to dry his helmet when sitting. I used to sit my lid on top of the pipe in my rev and my cat. Is there a better option?

I would be nice to put it on hinges so it flipped up like older sleds. but wanting to put A screen box of some sort under the hood to dry out gloves and stuff. just havnt been able to come up with a easy solution.

Took the hood off tonight...put the head and can on....that wasn't so bad. Still think a hinge is a good idea.

I replaced the push dart with some 6mm clip nuts. And added 6mm button heads to them plus the two by the steering column. This allows me to take the hood off in about 30secs with a 5mm t-handle...Still not the simple hinge we are use to on the older sleds but it works.

2-cool vents has a some super slick hand-removable hood vents that will give quick access to a cooker and keep the pow from blowing in thru the hood scoops.
