Pro gripper skis on a 4 stroke Cat?

Are there any modifications required to fit the Pro gripper skis on the Cat spindles, or do they pretty much just bolt right on?

I ran these skis on my Nytro and really liked them for they're light weight and 7" foot print. They seemed to work well the heavier front end of a four stroke sled.

modification required...

I used a set of ski rubbers from a 04-07 Ski-doo Rev, and trimmed the webbing on the ski where the rubber sits. The gripper ski is a huge improvement on the 4S cat, they are light, and make the sled ride "lighter". Personally trying MODS this season on M1100T, the grippers are going on my boy's M800.

I have been running them for 2 years now on my sled. I used a dremel with a cutting wheel to trim the webbing inside where the ski rubber goes and then used the Cat ski rubber. I also needed to buy some longer bolts. Pretty easy modification and installation. I like the skis much better than the stock ones.

Sorry, didn't take any pictures. I didn't think anyone would want to see them. It is very aparent that there are 4 ridges where the ski rubber would sit that impact the rubber sitting flat like it would on a cat ski. Those are the ones I trimmed down to make it all fit nice. Hope that helps a little.

The cat rubbers didn't last on my install - they squirted out the back. Lost one side completely.

I trimmed some material off the bottom of the polaris rubbers and jammed the skis into position with a 2x4 - MUCH BETTER. I only trimmed enough to barely get the skis on.

Now the skis are firm and don't fold over backwards on downhill turns.

I would use the polaris rubbers.

I have Grippers and the Mods. Both great ski, The mods however are not durable and are heavier, The side wings take a beating and bend outward. The footprint is about 25% smaller , both turn with ease. The extra float and wider Grpper ski nose floats much better. they both are great on the trail in.all in all the Grippers are Top gun.You will likely want to go back to them.

do you have a pic of this?

so did you shorten the overall height of the rubber evenly?

got my polaris skis on

very easy install

i used the cat rubbers, you have to cut down a row of the rubber nubs on the bottom side,, once you have the ski you will see what and where.

then i used a heat gun to heat the plastic ridge where the rubber nubs you cut off make contact the i used a pair of dikes to trim the plastic ridges flat..

i did not cut it down so much that the ski fit perfectly it was tight and took some leverage of lifting the ski up and down and a mallet to get the bolt through,,,,very easy

i started with the utility knife tying to shave or cut the plastic,, the dikes worked much quicker and easier..

thank you C.O 2.0 for the tips...........

Just finished installing my grippers on my nytro.

I used rubber stops and spindle sleeve from the XTX nytro.

I cut down my steel sleeve to 9/16" of an inch.

I used 3m wether strip glue to glue to rubber stopper to the 5/8" thick rubber shims between the ski bed and stopper

I installed my Gripper skis today. As mentioned above its a pretty easy mod. I found that a die grinder with a cut-off wheel and scotch brite disc made quick work of things!

I did make some shims out of composite material (it looks like wood, but it is a type of plastic)

Not sure if the shims are required, but the goal here was to reproduce the ski tension of the stock ski when fitted to the spindles.

To my supprise the Gripper skis are actually lighter, even though they are wider!
