PRO exhaust bog

So I just geared my Pro down to 19/45 and was eager to get it on the snow and see how it performs. Had about 2ft' of nice light sugar snow on top of a decent base so it looked like a good day, but every single time I did a hard right turn I consistently got an exhaust bog. I could turn 180s all day long to the left but every time I leaned hard right it would clog and bog every single time. I understand that this happens but I felt that what happened today was excessive.

Are other Pro riders experiencing this issue in deep snow?

I seem to remember this happening once in a while with my M8, but not every single turn.

yea the deflector is still there.

boondocker, is the donut in place and fits tight where the exhaust goes thru the bellypan?, on my dragon i had to silicone the muffler to the donut because of a small gap, it made it bog anytime the bellypan got under snow..that cured it...also, are you sure its not snow plugging the intakes when you carve to that side? all polaris sleds I have seen have done this in over the hood snow, slp powder valves will cure that also...you might also try adding a 1.5 in. extention to the stock deflector, that cured an old gen sled of bogging in deep snow as well(I assume it just makes a bigger, deeper hole in the snow for the exhaust...

pro bog in deep pow

We had 3 pro's do the same thing last week in 3 to 4 feet of new snow!
same thing even on Sat &sun after the snow settled a bit, they still bogged out on a hard right carve in a meadow or going on a hiilside tipped to the right. Never to the left. took 2 to the dealer yesterday to check for codes, there was none. has to be snow plugging the pipe. Last thurs we had 2 of them stall out on a flat road in the deep snow. The other made it around barly only because we had the other plug in it for non eth fuel which we were running. The different plug helped a whole bunch, but it is still a problem.l

try riviting a short extension to the stock deflector..we have done this before and it works..1-2 in. should work...

I checked the rubber "donut" where the exhaust leaves the panel and it was pushed in through into the panel. Not sure fixing that will change anything though.

I will get some sheet metal and rivet it on there to extend the deflector. I think that will fix it.

Sounds the same as the 900 Cat. Make sure the exhaust is sealed at the bellypan. Make sure intake is not getting air from under hood, only outside air! Also the exhaust outlet should be longer on the front side with a angle cut so exhaust is blown back not straight down. Also if the engine is running rich it helps promote this problem, that is why the other non-ethanol resistor may help? Mike
