Pro clutching advice for the flatlanders

Okay, so I’m looking for a little advice on clutching a 2012 Pro Assault. I’ve gone through a bunch of posts and have sorta come up with an idea as what to do.

For starters the sled at home will be run around that 1600 to 2000 ft. range with some trips out west. Yes I’m one of those “Flatlanders” that heads west from time to time. I’m hoping to set it up and only have to change out weights when I head west. Not that it’s a big deal to change springs but it’s just one or two fewer things to do. I’m looking for something a tick better then stock with a nice backshift so for now I was looking at playing with the primary and secondary spring. I’m guessing I’m not alone and there’s probably quite a few of us “flatlanders” looking for a good “all around” set up.

So after reading through a bunch of posts, I’m thinking about a SLP blue / pink primary, a black / purple secondary and a derlin washer under the spring cup. As far as weights, 68 grams for home and follow the chart according like 60 or 62 grams for example, Cooke?

Everyone really seems to recommend the black / purple secondary and the blue / pink primary seems to come up too.

So I’m on crack, let me know your thoughts or advice.

Thanks in advance!!!

Yep Your on the Right Track..

Only thing is left to do is TRY it out!

Trial and Error!!!

makes Perfect!!!

Yep in the Flats Ran 68 Belly Buster Stock Springs..

8000 to 10,000 ran 58 Belly Buster.. i tryed the Purple black sec spring. didn't like it.. went back to stock..

It was a all stock sled.!

Going with slp pipe, 68 BB weight and slp blue/ pink spring this year

I left mine stock....68's in Iowa and 60's for the Snowies. I by no means have a ton of seat time, by that I mean I only have 100 miles on sled. But it did seem to run great.

Good Luck!

I know it's probably not going to make a ton of difference here at home but I'm hoping to just make it a tick better all around and more so when I head west.

Thanks FatDogX. This is a perfect thread. I'm in southern MN and make a couple trips out west each year so clutching is always getting messed with. I can't wait to rip this pro out west or hell, even through the ditches.

I'm thinking about just trying the black / purple secondary and the SLP blue / pink here at home and see what happens. It's not like there hard to change back and forth.

i run at 0-4000 ft ... with 11-68 weight 11 serie is most aggressive with slp spring 160-340 ... this run very good compare with stock

I was going to say, 11 series weights are pretty sporty at low altitudes.
