I am not a Polaris guy at all I am a cat guy but I would like to look at getting a new sled for my Fiance and I was thinking the Pro 600 RMK would be the best bet for her.

She is rookie and has never rode in the mountains. I will be putting her in a riding clinic once one comes available here in the New Year.

I was just wondering what all your thoughts are on the Pro 600 RMK if that would be a good starter sled for her or if I should be looking for something else.

I wouldn't mind the Pro 600 as it would be an ok spare sled for my self to take as well.

Just looking for some input from some people that may have them

Thanks

My wife has one, came off a modded d700...loves the pro as is...It's a very nice sled to ride.

Thanks guys, this is the kind of feedback i need.
I might regret getting her into sledding its a bad enough habit for me let alone another person. but at least she wont feel the need to md her sled up.

Thanks again

I'd say yes, it's an adjustment but I think I'm going to really like mine. If she doesn't have long arms I would go with the electric start. Having trouble pulling mine over.

300 miles on my 600 pro best stock sled built. I Make my friends on 800s look silly but I only weigh 160 geared up. Pull the trigger.

If I had the extra coin I would buy a Pro 600 for my wife. It would also make a good backup sled. My wife has ridden my Pro 800 and she really liked it. She liked the ridding position and did very well on it. She then went to my brothers Assault (IQ chassis) and wanted back on the Pro. The 600 is a little more forgiving if she grabs too much throttle. I agree with others, you will probably like the Pro more than your AC.

Im sure I will still want to go back to my Cat but there may be some days my sled will be "broken" and Ill have to take the wifes sled

This sled is by no means a Wifes Sled.It has a better power to weight ratio than an 2007-2009 D-7

I've thought about this and this is what I considered.

I'm thinking you may want the regular 600-155.

It has,

the narrower handlebars(which should be easier for her to turn)

The front cooler(radiator), which will give lower temps especially on the trail and low snow conditions.
Buy some Ice Scrather's and put them on to make it run even cooler.

Extra set of wheels which will save your Hifax.

If you can find one with E-start it would be even better.

all good points
the other day I calculated the power to weight ratio on the ProRide 600 (any model) to my old REV 800HO....the 600 has a VERY SLIGH advantage to almost dead even

the above points minus the E/S, are the exact reasons i bought the sled I did
FOR ME, the 600 144 was the best fit for what I needed
maybe not for everyone else

If I rode bottomless POW or lived out west, Id be tossin a Carls 660 kit in this rig or even in the Pro 155
In the meantime, ill ride my "lil 600" and will bet it will go anywhere my old REV 800 got me

I would have to confirm this, but I believe that the non-Pro model does not have the new rear skid but the old 600 rear skid. That new skid is part of why the Pro's get up on the snow so well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The standard 600 has the new skid as well. It just has the base rydefx shocks but it is coilover. And it works very well. I get to use one at work. I talked them out of the 800 since I have an 09 800 and believe for reliability the 600 is way better. Especially with a variety of people using it, that don't necessarily know what they're doing on a sled.

There is a "regular" RMK 600 155 this year to go with the 144 and the155 PRO. My wife likes the regular bar version compared to my Pro.

Just to clarify for those following:
600 pro RMK 155-->coil over WE
600 RMK 155-->coil over Ryde FX
600 RMK 144-->traditional spring/skid
