Printers and cartridges - they're a damn racket

If you are using inkjet step up to laser... even color laser is cheap now and you'll get thousands of prints per cartridge...

I've often woneder why a person can almost buy a complete printer with cartridges included as cheap as buying just the new cartridges for it.

Most of the cartridges that come with the printers are "starter" cartridges and have a small amount of ink in them. They basically give away the printers and then bend you over when you need ink. It's a pretty good racket.

Ya color laser is the ONLY way to go!!! We cut our ink overhead more than 60% when we switched from ink to laser, due to the tremendous amount of faxes and reports we print here. But, you think cartridges are bad, wait till you have to have printer fixed. Our 14 month old Brother laser all-in-one took a chit and parts alone cost more than buying a new printer:confused::confused: Here's our order form pic..... had the fuser unit($549.99) or the OPC belt($479.99) went out, and that's price without labor:eek: Guess what?? New machine only cost $550.00, so you know what we now have;)

So sick of this throw away world we live in, ie. cheaper to buy new than repair something:confused:

Ink supply.com has refill info for most all of the HP's cost me very little to keep ink in my printer.

Go to Wally world, buy a $30 printer. When it runs out of ink, get rid of it. Been doing that for a long time.

why don't you just look and see how many of ml of ink come in the cart. hp screws people on ink with cheap, less than 100 dollar printers.

my 400 dollar hp 1215( bought in 2001) uses the 45 and 78 ink cartridges and is cheaper to run then some of todays cheap(under 500 dollar black only) laser printers. my black ink costs 29 dollars and has 45 ml of ink. saw a printer at wal-mart that was 50 dollars and the ink was 17.99 for a 7.5 ml cartridge. great deal.lol

Email it to the office and print it there...

Really though, I very rarely have a need to print something.

"Here" is my office as I have home based office;) But we have to have hard copies of every confirmation and insurance cert, W-9, authority, workers comp ins, broker carrier contract signed, etc, and for the most part everything is still done on old school fax:o in file cabinet in case of comp issues, so lotsa papers and ink being used round here.
