PRIMER BULB MOUNT

I decided to add a primer bulb to my carb. So where to mount it, mine is a rubber bulb type, cold weather its stiff and takes a good punch to move the bulb and flow fuel.

ended up with aluminum mount just below seat tank junction on my WR.
Ok but not real convenient . And will it flow gas with a couple of jabs if its mounted up high like in front of the tank?

My experience with the bulbs are they usually become a source for leaks after a season or two of exposure. And like you said they are hard to push when cold and it's usually about that time they rupture on you when you really need it. I would use the plunger type primers like used on Rotax for years or the Keihin D slide Polari of the late 90's. Usually you can mount them solid near the petcock, keep the line length to a minimum and plumb in right behind the slide on top. Available through ebay or most online carb parts suppliers.

This place worked for me.

bulb working

using my setup on lectron carb on wr450.

big help as the lectron has no accelerator pump so you can't just twist the throttle a couple of times to put some gas in the hot intake for starting. almost instant start all day with the e button, little squeeze wait 20 seconds for the gas to atomize, button and instant start.
