prime pump

just got my tank off fixed wires then back on, getting ready to fire her up. Can i just pull it over a bit to prime the pump?not sure on the priming way that i read. do i get a car battery and put 2 leads on that plug and good to go?

thanks steve

you can pull the motor over a few times and it will self prime....

any 12vdc battery will work on the priming, brown is ground, red is positive...

if you prime the pump manually, dont hold the wires on too long, it can heat the wires up cause they are pretty thing gauge.

good luck

We rebuilt my buds sled and it took 8 pulls to start without priming.... another time we pulled the tank and replaced all the in-tank lines... I think that took 5 pulls. As long as there is plenty of fuel in the tank it should start relatively easily. If that doesn't work, there is a thread in the how-to links discussing it like Guido said... it's pretty straight-forward.:beer;

I use a small 12v battery and a test guage with a bleed off so i can purge the fuel lines completely. This is also a good method for making sure stabilizied fuel is in the lines when summerizing.
