primary spring

If your spring keeps breaking I think you have something wrong in there. You can put the other spring in. It will lower your top rpm a bit.

I would take a look at your primary, check and make sure it is not binding your spring in some fashion etc!!!!

what exactly could be wrong with a primary to break the spring? Ive broken probly 4 springs since ive owned mine and i just figured it was the nature of the beast. I know another guy with a 900 who has broken 2 springs as well.

Mine did the same thing, even after rebuilding and balancing the clutch. So....I think it's at least somewhat the nature of the beast

Just curious, are they epi springs that are breaking? As I have read a few epi springs that were breaking but not how many times on the same machine right after the other. Something has to be wrong with the clutch.

Never broke any on mine so can't really say.

Ive only broken polaris and slp springs. i havent broken an epi spring yet. Y dont they make a delrin washer for the primary spring to keep it from binding? Seems like a good idea dont u think?
