Primary repairs

Ok so I bought a used primary with 5 rides on it supposably since it's last rebiuld. He had a clutch wieght come loose and take out a roller so I figured I could do a pin and roller kit myself and have a good spare clutch. I do have access to the tools to take it apart. So I took the clutch cover off and spring and the movable sheave seems to stick a bit as I slide it up and down, is this normal since it's not bolted to the cover or does it need a new bushing? Anyone ever tried taking these things apart, does that bushing just press in? Its for a 2015 proclimb. Also what are your thoughts on floating the secondary, does the belt run 50 degrees cooler like they claim? Are there any mods necessary to install one?

floating secondary is nice if your having belt issues. I put one on for peace of mind. biggest thing is most also allow for very simple deflection adjustment instead of using shims in behind. I personally run the CPC floating secondary kit. id guess the tolerances are pretty tight between the shaft and movable sheve and since the cover isn't on there for alignment its easy to bind. id recommend the 911 clutch cover or the ZRP billet cover

Ok I bolted the cover on without the spring, still wants to bind so I'm assuming I better re-bush the sheave. How about changing belts with the floating secondary, does your kit include a tool for this? Is it faster than the stock setup? And did you notice an increase in your belt life?

Well ive only blown one belt on my 2012 and I just put it on this season so it wasn't bad to begin with lol. I never used the stock setup to change belts always just pulled the 10mm bolt and removed secondary to change so with the floating kit its not different, just an Allan key insyead of the 10mm
