Hi Guys
Im looking at making a Primary clutch holding tool instead of buying one since I have acsess to a machine shop. So my question is can anyone get me some dimensions on the size of the posts that actually go into the clutch to hold it and the distances they are apart. Its for a 05 Rev 800 Any info would be very helpfull for me and others I would think. Thanks Tablerock in snowless Mn:face-icon-small-fro

it would be easier to make the older style holder. kind that wrapped around outer surface. i used that style a lot on the newer tra, but finally i got the post style as a gift.

you know what else works? a rachet strap, lol poor mans holder or just hit it with the impact, or even better the water method i heard that it actually works, just never tried it

Water method. I am sold!
Had two pullers, a good one and a Chinese one.
Bought a sled that hadn't had the clutch pulled in ????
Map gas torch, PB Breaker overnight, and Bent the Chinese puller.
Tried the water method with boiling water, and bam, like butter.

You dont need 4 posts like the oem. I made my own with a piece of 1/4"thick by 1 1/4" bar stock and two 3/8" posts about 2" apart, slipped some rubber hose over them and I was done.

X2 ^^^...and you may not need a holder to pull it, but you will to torque it back on.
