primary clutch change

Can you use the 33mm 8" clutch off of say, a 2003 900 zr/mountain cat instead of the M7 primary.
Seems to me they have less problems than the newer clutch and there is a lot more of them around.
My sons M7 has a broken spider so i wsa just wondering? Thanks

are the 9 post clutches any better than the 6 posts? or are they a toss up? Any thoughts or opinions

The M7 and the 900 mtn are different. They both have 33mm tapers but are different depths.
