Priest Lake conditions

What are conditions like at Priest? We are heading over this weekend and staying a couple miles from the Leonard Paul (sp) Store. I have only been over there once before and it was after the grooming was done so we did not stay long. I understand you can ride to Schwietzer from the airstrip? Taking the GF for her 3rd time on a sled so no steep and deep. Been looking at NWAC.us for avalanch conditions and did not see anything for the area. Where to get updated avy conditions for the area? Any recommendations for good areas to take a newby, meadows, moderate terrain to challange her and yet not let me fall asleep?

The wife and I went riding last friday Jan.8th on the east side of Priest Lake. We parked in the parking area about 3 miles north of Coolin. Not much snow in the parking lot, but once you got above 3,500' the conditions were great, the trails had just been groomed. We rode all around the Camels Prarie Loops. Echo Bowl had good snow 4-5 feet. Keep your eyes open for stumps and boulders. We need a lot more snow up there. I don't think we will be getting much snow this week, to warm, keep your fingers crossed for next week. If you want to ride, it would be worth the trip, have fun.

What is snow like

Has anyone been out lately tring to plan a trip for mid february and it is a long drive so like se if worth going and any good places to stay

Priest

Just got back yesterday. It was thin down low, but pretty good up high. We rode Lookout and Echo, both were pretty good although Lookout had more snow. We stayed at www.sundancemtlodge.com . I think we're heading back in a few weeks.
