I draw for a living and I just can't draw any parallels between the movie and the election of Obama sorry!!!!

Perhaps I can clarify this for you. The parallels in this stem from a movie that was released in 2006 that takes a shot at having a president with only 'rock star' status to go on while society flounders. Two years later we get a president with no legitimate background as a leader, only elected on his appeal as a new 'rock star'. The fact he was just re-elected with one of the most dismal presidential records in history shows his only basis for still being 'popular' is maintaining his appearance as a rock star to his followers. That's the basis of "idiocracy", a person with no legitimate credentials or leadership skills to run a country, but just a person acting like a rock star to appeal to the mases while the population and country continue to rocket into a state of "Idiocracy" and ruin. The future is not about “bringing people up”, it's now all about lowering the bar because the bar was supposedly and 'unfairly' set too high.

It didn't matter who won. It's ALL of the idiots in DC that have been, and are continuing to engage in the promotion of their stupitity over this country and its population. It's been going on for decades, and if it's allowed to continue then we'll all be looking for work at CostCo in the future, if there ARE any jobs to be had at all.

In 1835, M. de Tocqueville wrote: "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."

The only positive side I can see in all this may be the proposed 'menu' change offered by Starbucks in the future.

It is interesting to me that people who share a bright outlook rather then sitting around blaming everyone else for their miserable unhappy lives always seem to do a bit better and go further in this world. just my observation though Party on!!!

What's interesting to me is that people that share a bright outlook given the current state of this country and the world in general are usually the same people living off the rest of us that work and pay the taxes to support them.

You can stick to your pointless one-liner about who won an election, keep ignoring reality all you want, and enjoy your self-gratifying virtual world, but the fact remains that this country has been and will continue to promote stupidity over responsibility. Apparently you don't see that, and many don't, so that's why I posted the parody of "Idiocracy" on this thread.

That episode is about right as far as how the two sides of the fence acted in 2008 and ARE acting now. The only short-fall is they limited their 'heist' to a small group of politicians and even making the assumption they had enough brains to even pull off a 'real' heist. In reality, all of the politicians have been collectively fleecing this country for years in plain view of a slacking populace. Funny if it wasn't so sad.

No bunkers for me. I can't wait to see what happens next! Reality at it's finest without the viagra commercials.


We seriously need some major SNOW to put life back into a real perspective.
