preseason

What preseason maintainance should I do for my nytro boosted sled? First year on one and want everything to go right. How often to change oil? what to check, grease points etc. etc? thanks

Here's a list of things to check spedcific to a turbo sled.
1. Check all boost fitting and make sure clamps are tight and there are no cracks in the rubber connecting boots. Check throttle body boots too. You can double check your work by making a pressure fittting that fits into the intake hose and then pressurize the system to about 12-15lbs with your compressor and then listen for leaks.
2. Check your intercooler and downpipes for any cracks. Pay especially close attention to the welds. Cracks there can be hard to see.
3. Check your drivers. Make sure the track is centered in the sled and then check how the drivers line up in the windows.
4. Check your belt. Make sure it is within specs. Also check your clutches are within alignment specs.
5. Check your secondary shaft bearings for any play. These should be replaced every year or 1000 miles on boost or so. Its cheap insurance.
6. Check your turbo out. Feel for play in the shaft both in and out and side to side. Spin it with your fingers. It should spin freely and NEVER touch the housing. If you have play in and out it is trouble. You will have a slight side to side motion. Barely any all at though.
7. I replace my chain in my gearcase every year with a new one. Also cheap insurance. I check my chain tension every ride as well. Takes 2 minutes.

I'm sure there's much more those are just my main things to look at while she's in the garage.

I replace both clutch springs too....keep the old ones for spares. On one road trip this year when I loaded the sled the primary spring was fine, when I unloaded in revy it was broke:face-icon-small-con Luckily found a new one (thanks Laird) so everyone should keep a spare around, the 3 cyl seems to be harder on primary springs for sure.
