Premix Fuel Mileage

--Was wondering is there a noticeable difference in fuel mileage using premix versus oil injection? Considering per fluid ounce of premix versus raw fuel, more premix is required per given fuel ratio due to added oil. Would the mileage difference be the equivelent of the amount of oil mixed with a tank of gas, say one quart per tank or whatever oil added?

I will say there will not be any noticable gain or loss.

You will not be able to tell the difference but you are leaning out the fuel/air mix by a very, very little bit.

My oil mileage is considerably better. Used to go through allot more oil.

If oil mileage is better, then does that mean while running premix maybe you are not getting enough oil to the motor at 3/4-full throttle?

No. Stock oil injection ratio is over oiling often IMO. and especially if your oil pump sticks like mine did for a full year before I caught it.

My '08 motor has over 6,000 miles on it and I have been running oil delete for two years now. I push my motor pretty hard I think and ride 45-65 days a year with no issues from premix. I like everything about running premix. Seems to run just fine and I'm only on my 2nd set of pistons!

--How many miles on the odometer do you usually get out of tank of gas?

No noticable differnece. At 32:1 premix, you have 40 ounces of oil per 10 gallons. In other words, all else the same you should experience a "drop" in fuel milage of appx. 3%, and also a 3% leaner fuel mixture. Mix at 40 or 50 to 1 and the difference becomes even less.

--With a longer and deeper lug track, maybe actual distance travelled would be closer to mileage on the odometer.

--Do you carry an extra quart of oil with you in case you get fuel from another sled?

Only if your on the trail/hard pack.
