Hows the snow conditions going to be this weekend?

conditions at Priest Lake

We rode four hours on the East side of Priest Lake today. Trail conditions were great with 3-4 inches of frest powder. More snow is needed on top of the mountains (not very deep) and icy. If you keep to the trails you will have a good ride.

May be heading to priest this weekend. Any word on teh latest condtions up there? how is the coverage and pow?

rode up there yesterday, coolin/sundance area. conditions were epic! still lots of of tops of trees poking through and some stumps here and there but it was worth it! about 8 miles up or so you hit the pow. solid 2 feet in the bowls, and ofcourse drifted over and crusty on the top of the peaks from the wind. snow was perfect though, had the best ride of the year so far! just ride smart up there, the snow before this new stuff was pretty crusty so it will slide.

the snotel at schweitzer basin at 6090 feet is reporting 3 inches from yesterday. about a total of 8 inches since the first of march. but, temps have been pretty warm so it might be less than that at lower altitude. probably pretty heavy, wet stuff i bet.

Priest Lake conditions

Just got home from a full day of sledding above Nordman. Conditions were great, 8-10 inches of fresh powder. No other rigs in the parking lot, didn't see any other sleds. Weather indicates more snow this weekend, conditions should stay good. The season is not over, head North, lots of good riding.

the snow is great right now...the base is dangerous. every layer of good snow we have had this year has iced up and then had more snow dump on it. great pow, but lots of slides.
