Prediction: Polaris and Cat will be one company

Mostly Cat sleds will survive, and Polaris ATV's will survive. This will happen in the next 12-18 months.

I just don't see how these two companies can make it competing against each other for a dwindling number of sales. Take the best of both, wring out one of the production facilities, get rid of duplication, stronger company in the end.......

What say you?

I would not be shocked if that happened. In fact, I am shocked that it hasn't happened yet! A turbo'd Suzuki engine in a RAW chassis! Now that would be awesome!!

polaris wheelers are dead also right now. the only thing cat has going for them is the m series and tucker hibbert. i don't see how they both can survive.

I too am suprised this hasen't happened yet.
I would think that Polaris would buy out Cat and make one line that much better.
I would love to see the the sled that would come out of that union.

Doo will probably by cat, before polaris could merge with them.or maybe doo could buy both and they could call it cats doo poo. Lol

we will all be on smoke free yamahas in a couple years helping each other get unstuck.

Thats pretty dam funny. So true if the Environmentalist have their way with us. "Fight for your wright to access our backcountry" Were all in this together, lets show them how passionate we are about our land and our sport...

I rode a long tracked polaris FST. That sled rocked.
If polaris ever pulls their head out they will start producing that very sled.
4 stroke self compensating turbo making 140 at elevation.

Ok here is my 2 cents. It makes sense that Polaris is putting more focus on their on road vehicles. The Victory is a great bike, and if it was price pointed between the Jap Crap and the Harley's they would sell the he!! out of them. If Polaris and Cat don't find a way to make money outside of the snowmobile business they are dead. The economy sucks, that is hurting, and Obama's land use policies make Clinton look like a Montana Freeman. I fear that a 2nd Obama term will see the end of backcountry snowmobiling on the National Forest. Take out the Mtn segment, and the fall in the economy where does that leave the snowmobile industry???
