Powermadd throttle extension

They are junk IMO.

www.gravityworxracing.com is the only way to go.

I agree!! I had a Powermadd throttle extension on a 2000 RMK and it didn't last. The cable shredded inside the conection block. I met Darin with Gravityworx at the Colorado forum ride two years ago. I saw the quality of his product first hand. Great products. Throttle cables, extended brake lines, left hand throttles and much more. Check them out.

cable

I just installed a powermadd on my M7 today, i think it's gonna work fine, GW doesn't have 'em for a cat....at least that's what they told me at the snowshow

I think it all depends on what you are willing to spend and what you expect out of it.
I ran a PowerMadd extention on my last sled for two years with absolutely no failure at all.

If you just follow the directions and are careful when you install it and don't kink it or put a ton of bend on the cable right near the plastic housing it will work ok for you.

You need to add more grease than what comes with the kit though and be sure to seal the heat shrink tube well after shrinking it with cable ties and grease in the ends where the cable housing goes into the plastic housing.
The biggest failure posibility is water getting into the housing, freezing and locking up the throttle. if it's sealed well and greased at the ends, water can't get in.

It does add some increased throttle pull though, that was my only complaint.

If you have the extra money available to you then by all means, buy an extended cable. That's the best way to do it.

throttle cable

I use to have the power madd cable extension but I didn't like the fact that it was a little harded to push the throttle. I also heard of a few breaking. I ordered a cable from gravity worx which is longer than stock and it works awesome. It's high quality stuff. Very smooth. I recommend this product to anyone who needs a longer throttle cable. Email darin and he will get you what you need.

Thanks for all the good props guys.

There is an end On the M cable that I've just not been able to duplicate.
The 2009 SnoPro cable from Cat will work though because it is longer do to the telescopic steering post on that model.

get a proper length cable.....not a good item to cut corners on. no throttle or stuck throttle = unhappy day.

I'm another one for gravity worx racing. I think that I have been through like 5 or so power madd extensions. The first ones just got seized from water getting in the cable. The last couple I kept breaking the little plastic slider piece that the two cables connect to. I would have been money ahead if I would have just done it right the first time rather than spending $25 apiece for the extensions. Thats just my .02

What kind of Cat? Darin just built me one for my retro-cat project, got it end of last week. Maybe call and talk to him directly, he can build just about anything. You get what you pay for. Cheap $$$ = Cheap quality.

How much is your safety or a busted sled worth to you vs your throttle sticking? Mine's worth the extra $20 bucks to get the proper cable.......

cable

it's not a matter of money.....I just havn't found an extended cable at all....I have an 09 cable on order that's made for the telescoping bars on the new cats, I ride an 05 M7....if anybody has a high quality cable for an M7 with a 4inch rise let me know.

Sorry man, didn't mean to imply it was a money thing, and didn't see Darin's response above. Its all good, sounds like you got it worked out with the 09 cable. :D I only commented because I have had 2 throttle sticks in my life, both were really lucky that nothing happened. Seen one stick on a mod Cat and hit a tree so hard it "S" bent the rails, they figure it was doing close to the c-note in mph when it hit.

I like GW stuff since it eliminates the extra connection in the cable. Less binding and less chance of failure. Besides, braided cable just adds the bling factor.....:D

I had no issues with my Power Madd extension on an 03 Summit. I did run the tether in case the left throttle or ext locked up, but 0 issues with the ext.

Hands down....Gravity worx, easy throttle pull, and a true cable extension...
You dont have to grease it or "make it work"

Great product! 5 star:D

I agree 100% they are the best you can buy . I had my powermadd extension freeze up on me last year that's when i bought the Gravity Works one.

I'm got the Powermadd one for this year. I've heard a lot of people who have trouble with them, and a lot that don't have any trouble, so I'll just have to wait and see.
