Seems I read about doing this but can't find it. Bought a spare hood and will put my own display with correct stats in the new hood, but curious if I could power up the spare display off the sled. Sled is not stored close to home so I will be doing the display/headlight Swap before taking hood out to the sled.

That powers up the ecm and a couple other things but does not power up the gauge.
Hook 12 volts to the DC power plug and the gauge will come on.
DO NOT! hook up 12 volts to the AC power plug.

Don't use the 2-pin DC connector up by the handlebars - it lights up the headlights too which is too much for the fuse (which I was not able to find), use the connector down in front of the primary clutch...
