Power wash sled

Is it ok to power wash my sleds, engine bay and all? Whats a good way to clean a 700 doo clutch without having to pull it off? I need to get all the buildup off the backside of it and wherever else there's grime and grease... Thanks

I usually blow the clutches out with compressed air every couple of rides. Grease and clutches do not go well together. I only powerwash out the belly pan maybe every couple of years, trying not to inject water on the electrical stuff.

presure washer works great, I do my sleds a few times a year. spray them down with simple green first. its best to use a small presure washer, under 2000 psi if yours is over that be careful as you can cut lines and push water past seals. I also run mine on my hot water tank, not as good as a true steam cleaner but does help.

ohh but if you havent drained your hot water tank from the valve in a while you should do that at least once before running that water to your presure washer, there is useually a bunch of buildup in the tank. julio

Power wash only if they have a chance to dry out before freezing again. I stopped at a car wash once on the way to Yellowstone to wash off the road grime....When I arrived, everything was frozen solid: Throttle, choke, brake, track, and yes, even the steering.......After I thawed it all out and took off, it wouldn't steer.....
